    Abstract: Cooling apparatuses and coolant-cooled electronic assemblies are provided which include a thermal transfer structure configured to couple to one or more sides of an electronics card having one or more electronic components to be cooled. The thermal transfer structure includes a thermal spreader and at least one coolant-carrying channel associated with the thermal spreader to facilitate removal of heat from the thermal spreader to coolant flowing through the coolant-carrying channel(s). The cooling apparatus further includes a coolant manifold structure disposed adjacent to a socket of the electronic system within which the electronics card operatively docks, and a fluidic and mechanical attachment mechanism which facilitates selective, fluidic and mechanical coupling or decoupling the thermal transfer structure and coolant manifold structure, the attachment mechanism facilitating the flow of coolant between the coolant manifold structure and the coolant-carrying channel(s) of the thermal transfer structure.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a heat exchanger having heat exchange plates and a base plate that can help to mitigate the thermal stresses encountered by a heat exchanger, particularly, around the peripheral edge portions of the heat exchanger and the base of heat exchanger. This is achieved by providing a channel of coolant fluid near the peripheral edge portions which is in between the peripheral edge portions and the manifold permitting flow of hot fluid. In addition, the base plate of the heat exchanger is protected from the hot fluid flowing through the manifold by providing deflectors that shield the base plate from the hot fluid.

    Abstract: An insert tube is used for the repair or improvement of a pre-heating tube for air arranged in an exhaust gas pathway of a fuel burner. A pre-determined radial gap exists between the outer surface of the insert tube and the inner surface of the pre-heating tube for air such that the insert tube can be slid into the pre-heating tube for air. The insert tube is provided in the vicinity of each end with at least one groove that runs around its circumference. In the groove there is arranged at least one sealing ring of an elastic material. The sealing ring mounted in the groove has an external diameter that exceeds the internal diameter of the preheating tube for air. The sealing ring forms a seal against the inner surface of the pre-heating tube for air and prevents leakage through the sealing ring.
