The kickover lug is collapsible radially inwardly and biased radially outwardly. The auto entry guide device may also include a centralizer bowspring that is mounted upon the muleshoe. Additionally, the muleshoe is mounted for rotational movement with respect to the seal assembly.

    Abstract: A non-rotational casing hanger and seal assembly running tool for use in oil and gas drilling operations has a mandrel and a tool body that is carried by the mandrel. The tool body supports a plurality of latching segments for releasably connecting the tool body to a seal assembly. A plurality of latching dogs on the tool body releasably connect the tool body to a casing hanger. Axial movement between the tool body and mandrel operates a pressure responsive shuttle piston positioned on the mandrel to urge the seal assembly into sealing position. A ball valve positioned in the mandrel bore is operable between open and closed positions to allow independent operations to be carried out such as cementing the casing hanger in position through the mandrel bore and operating the shuttle piston to then allow overpull to unlatch the tool from the casing hanger for retrieval.

    Abstract: The present invention generally relates to a method and an apparatus for stimulating the production of an existing well. In one aspect, a method of treating a well is provided. The method includes inserting a selective treatment assembly and a plug assembly into a partially lined wellbore until the selective treatment assembly is positioned proximate an area of interest. Thereafter, the selective treatment assembly is activated to isolate and treat the area of interest. Next, the selective treatment assembly is deactivated and urged toward the surface of the well until the plug assembly is seated in a polished bore receptacle disposed in a string of casing. At this point, the treated portion of the wellbore is separated from the untreated portion. Thereafter, the pressure in the untreated portion of the wellbore is equalized with the surface of the well and then the selective treatment assembly is removed from the wellbore while the plug assembly remains in the polished bore receptacle.

    Abstract: An expansion-set fluid production assembly transfers well fluids from a casing string 12 to a production tubing string 112. A tubular anchor 72 and tubular expander 70 may be positioned downhole on a running tool at a desired depth along the casing string 12. An actuator assembly 10 may forcibly move the tubular expander 70 into the tubular anchor 72, expanding the tubular anchor 72 to seal and secure the tubular anchor 72 against the casing string 12. The running tool actuator assembly 10 may be removed, leaving the expanded tubular anchor 72 and tubular expander 70 downhole. A seal nipple 122 may be sealed with the tubular expander 70 and to the production tubing string 112. Fluids may then be recovered from the wellbore through the casing string 12, through the fluid production assembly, and into the production tubing string 112.

    Abstract: A running tool that delivers an object selectively to one of a plurality of landing nipples and then releases from the object is disclosed. The tool is actuated by raising it after it has passed the desired landing nipple to release a locating dog. The locating dog places locking dogs on the object even with a groove on the landing nipple. Movement of the tool downhole secures the locking relationship and releases the running tool from the object. A sheer pin allows testing at the surface that the object is locked in place, prior to removal of the running tool. The object comprises a fishing neck to allow it to be subsequently retrieved.

The straddle assembly, in cooperation with the inlet and main outlet legs, effects a downhole flow path which directs fluids from the inlet leg through body of the template and out the main outlet leg, bypassing the offset outlet leg. The straddle assembly is distally displaced from the template to reconfigure the template for drilling. A diverter is placed in the body of the template upon displacement of the straddle assembly to define a drill string path from the inlet leg to the offset outlet leg. The offset well bore is drilled by conveying a drill string through the drill string path.

    Abstract: An injection probe assembly is disclosed for injecting material into subsurface formations for making geotechnical improvements. The probe assembly includes a sheath having an upper end for attaching to a mating tool string and a lower end for receiving a solid drive point. The sheath has a reduced diameter injection area which includes an interior space enclosed by a tubular sidewall, a valve seat, and a plurality of injection ports extending through the sidewall through which materials can be injected laterally. A check valve spool is arranged for sliding movement within the interior space for preventing back-flow of material into the interior space. The spool is seated on the valve seat and covers the injection ports in a first position, and is unseated from the valve seat with the injection ports uncovered in a second position. The spool is responsive to pressure changes of the injected materials.
