Abstract: A closure assembly system for attaching a foot protection to a horn capsule of an animal by means of attachment structure, which may be secured to a horn capsule wall of the horn capsule, and holding structure, which are secured to the foot protection, wherein the foot protection has a sole plate and at least two adaption elements each having at least one leg and a base plate, and wherein each leg is configured to be slidable essentially radially relative to the horn capsule wall by the base plate, which is configured to be slidable in a sole plate recess of the sole plate that is open towards the topside, and wherein each leg has one of the holding structures, each of which is configured to be connectable with the attachment structure in a sheer-resistant and detachable way.

Abstract: A horseshoe having a front end and a back end includes a U-shaped rigid body having an upper surface and a lower surface, the rigid body being closed adjacent the front end and open adjacent the back end, the rigid body defining two arms spaced from one another at the back end, a pair of cuffs disposed on the upper surface of the rigid body, each of the pair of cuffs having an inner surface configured and arranged to contact a hoof of an animal, and an outer surface opposite the inner surface, each of the pair of cuffs being coupled to a respective one of the two arms of the rigid body adjacent the back end, a pair of side supports coupled to the outer surface of each of the pair of cuffs, each of the pair of side supports defining a window, and a platform disposed on the upper surface of the rigid body at locations where the pair of cuffs are not present.

Abstract: A device or structure for fitting on the bottom of an equine leg cast to protect the cast from abrasion and wear, to aid in keeping the cast clean and, in one aspect, to provide a shaped molded rocker bottom that allows the leg cast hoof to rock forward or back, allowing the equine to find a naturally comfortable position. A method of applying the device to an equine leg cast. The device or structure consist, in general, of a solid member having a top face and a bottom face and having malleable straps attached to the solid member and extending from at least two sides of the solid member, which straps are made of material and sized to be capable of being bent or folded upward in a plane perpendicular to the top face of the solid member to attach to an equine leg cast.
