    Abstract: A horseshoe assembly and a method for mounting the horseshoe assembly onto a hoof is disclosed. The horseshoe assembly includes a core and a sole, wherein the sole overlays or encapsulates the core, and the core being mounted directly beneath a surface of a horse hoof. The method including: securing a cover plate over the horse hoof, the cover plate includes a plurality of anchor points distributed across the cover plate; disposing the horseshoe assembly beneath the horse hoof with the core directly contacting the bottom surface of the horse hoof; and utilizing one or more tying elements, securing the horseshoe assembly to the bottom surface of the horse hoof with a binding force which presses one or both of the core and the sole against the bottom surface of the horse hoof.

    Abstract: This horseshoe has segment 1A joining segments 1B, 1C which have first portions 2B, 2C for connection with segment 1A and second portions 3B, 3C which, in use, overlie a heel region. When assembled segments 1B, 1C are secured fast to segment 1A. Second portions 3B, 3C are formed to cover a range of different feet and adapted to be shaped to the foot to which the shoe is fitted. Segment 1A to 1C are formed from plastics material injection moulded onto steel inserts 4A, 4B, 4C. The inserts 4B, 4C within the second portions 3B, 3C are so contoured as to permit the shaping of the plastics material.

    Abstract: A farrier's equine hoof-sizer characterized by its adaptation to an equine's individual hooves for purposes of sizing in shoeing. The sizer is extensible to a straight line for portability. It is lightweight, durable and of such construction that in the sizing of hooves of various lateral configuration, the measurement may be sustained in semi-rigidity for comparative guidance in the farrier's shaping of the shoe. It is adaptable to either cold or hot shoeing.
