  • Patent number: 6640906
Abstract: A beach cleaner for recovering waste while traveling in a towed state by a traction vehicle. A grating-like portion scoops up waste present in front of the beach cleaner as the beach cleaner is moved. A rotor is disposed on an upper side of the grating-like portion and is adapted to rotate so that a lower portion thereof moves rearwardly. The rotor is mounted on a rotary shaft extending in the transverse direction of the beach cleaner. Waste is delivered rearwardly between the rotor and the grating-like portion. With travel of the beach cleaner, waste present in front of the beach cleaner is scooped up onto the grating-like portion and sand which is scooped up together with the waste is allowed to drop through gaps in the grating-like portion.

  • Patent number: 6612374
Abstract: A beach cleaner for recovering waste while being towed by a traction vehicle. The beach cleaner includes a grating-like portion for scooping up waste present in front of the beach cleaner as the beach cleaner is moved. The grating-like portion is inclined so that the front side thereof assumes a lower position. A rotor is disposed on an upper side of the grating-like portion and for rotation so that a lower portion thereof moves rearwardly. The rotor is centered on a rotary shaft extending in the transverse direction of the vehicle. The rotor delivers the waste rearwardly between the rotor and the grating-like portion. A reticulate portion is formed behind the grating-like portion. The reticulate portion is inclined so that the rear side thereof is located at a lower position to hold waste.

  • Patent number: 5070946
Abstract: A stone burying attachment for a finish grading landscape machine is disclosed wherein the attachment is optionally mounted to the frame of the machine to create a furrow immediately forwardly of the discharge side of the machine to permit a burying of stones and other unwanted debris collected by the landscape machine during operation thereof. The stone burying attachment is positionally adjustable between operative and inoperative positions to permit a selective engagement thereof at the discretion of the operator. The attachment includes a disc positioned angularly with respect to the direction of travel and also positionable at varying heights in the operative position for selectively varying the desired depth of the furrow being formed thereby. A breakaway feature protects the attachment if the disc engages an immovable object.

  • Patent number: 4609050
Abstract: A root picker includes a main frame supporting within it a triangular picker frame pivoted on the main frame at one apex with a lower and rearwardly positioned apex supporting a picker roller which is rotated to pick stones from the ground. A conveyor chain supporting transverse bars with outwardly extending teeth is pivotally mounted adjacent the third apex of the frame upwardly and rearwardly of the picker roller so that the chain turns around an axis at a position alongside the picker roller to lift rocks between the conveyor chain and the picker roller onto a surface which leads up to a bucket. The frame pivots to lift the conveyor chain and the picker roller away from the ground and also the conveyor chain is pivotal relative to the frame to increase the spacing between the chain and the picker roller. Rotating sweep drums are positioned forwardly and outwardly of the frame to pick and sweep rocks into the picker roller.

  • Patent number: 4555897
Abstract: A transportable trailing wide-swath wheel-supported implement such as a rock windrower is conveniently able to convert from wide-swath working mode to a transversely narrower folded mode for convenient transport of the implement. The folding elements are a drawbar and the wheel legs, each of these being pivotally attached to the implement frame about a substantially vertical pivotal axis. In working mode, the wheel legs and drawbar are extended at a relatively large acute angle or right angle to the frame whereas in transport mode they pivotally retract to assume relatively small acute angles to the frame. The wheel legs may be locked in either extended or retracted position. Between the drawbar and the frame is preferably pivotally connected a hydraulic piston-cylinder arrangement, permitting the angle of the drawbar to the frame to be adjusted and controlled.

  • Patent number: 4315546
Abstract: A rock windrower which has a main roller that is moved along the ground and is rotationally driven under power. The roller is at an oblique angle with respect to the direction of travel, so that the rocks that are dislodged are moved axially along the roller and laterally to the direction of movement until they are discharged at the trailing end of the roll to be left in a windrow. The present device further includes an auxiliary roller mounted above the main roller to prevent rocks from spilling over the main roller, thus making it possible to form larger windrows, while permitting dirt clods and some foreign material to pass between the rollers. The auxiliary or second roller is mounted on arms that are pivotally mounted relative to the mounting for the main roller to permit the second roller to move if necessary.

  • Patent number: 4153114
Abstract: A mobile frame is provided including a frusto-conical ground wheel journaled for rotation about a generally horizontal but inclined transverse axis with the lowermost slant height of the wheel disposed for surface-to-surface contact with the ground over which the frame is advanced. The wheel includes a central body occupying the central portion of the interior thereof thereby limiting the useful volume of the interior of the wheel to an outer circumferential area thereof and stone deflecting structure is provided for deflecting stones lying on the ground into the lower periphery of the outer circumferential interior area of the wheel through the open side thereof. The body includes a plurality of radially outwardly facing relatively angulated sides spaced about the axis of rotation of the wheel and convergent toward the open end thereof.

The minor and major diameter ends of the wheel are open and closed, respectively, and an upstanding rotary disk is journaled from the frame for rotation about an axis generally paralleling the axis of rotation of the wheel and with the disk disposed closely outwardly of and closing the rear lower quadrant portion of the open minor diameter on the end of the wheel. Stone deflecting structure is positioned outwardly of the minor diameter end of the wheel for deflecting windrowed stones thereinto and the interior of the wheel includes lift members for support of rocks therefrom and thereby operative to elevate rocks received into the open end of the wheel upon rotation of the latter.
