Spaced Non-rolling With Intermediate Rolling Patents (Class 172/157)
  • Patent number: 10519624
Abstract: A BAS plow creates a V-trench along the linear route of a pipeline path and an instrumented bottle moving with the BAS plow collects BAS data indicative of the pitch, roll, heading, yaw, three dimensional positioning, speed and depth of the chassis, the shearing force applied to the seabed material and the applied tow force. The bottle can be swapped to collect the acquired data or an umbilical can be used to provide a real time stream of data. The BAS plow can simultaneously backfill the created trench, leaving an undisrupted seabed, or the pipeline can be laid in the BAS trench, which can also be made deeper and wider by additional trench cutting passes, significantly reducing the total time required for combined BAS and pipeline laying processes. The BAS plow can be released and retrieved over-the-stern of a towing vessel.

  • Patent number: 7975775
Abstract: An apparatus assists in clearing furrows in a plowed field. A plurality of furrow assist members line up with a plurality of plowshares on a furrow roller which is towed around a field. The furrow roller may have one or more cylindrical rollers that may include extension rollers that are foldable for storage. Plowshares are moveably attached to rigid beams and positioned to engage the ground and dig irrigation furrows. The cylindrical rollers smooth and compact seed beds in a uniform manner. Furrow assist members, in accordance with embodiments, are selectively deployed and positioned to be substantially in line with the plowshares to clear and distribute any soil or other materials that may be in the furrows following the passage of the cylindrical rollers.

  • Patent number: 6257342
Abstract: A soil grader is disclosed which is mounted on the forward end of a skid-steer vehicle or to the three-point hitch of a tractor. The soil grader includes first and second side frames having a forwardly extending support secured thereto which enables the grader to be secured to the vehicle or tractor. A cross frame is secured to the first and second side frames and has a plurality of horizontally spaced-apart, elongated, rigid teeth secured thereto which extend downwardly and forwardly therefrom for engagement with the soil being graded. A horizontally disposed soil roller is rotatably secured to the first and second side frames adjacent the lower end thereof rearwardly of the teeth. Spring tooth supports are secured to the first and second frame members rearwardly of the soil roller and have a plurality of horizontally spaced-apart spring teeth secured thereto which extend downwardly therefrom for engagement with the soil.

  • Patent number: 5318134
Abstract: An irrigation furrow and raised seed bed forming machine includes a main support frame, a hitch assembly, furrow and seed bed forming shovel assemblies, a seed bed mulching assembly, seed bed conditioning roller assemblies, and furrow side finishing slide assemblies. These assemblies of the furrow and bed forming machine are operable and cooperate to form irrigation furrows and raised seed beds in soil as the machine, being mounted to a tractor, is moved through a field. The hitch assembly is adapted for mounting the main support frame to the tractor to extend transversely to the direction of movement of the machine. The shovel assemblies are mounted to a forward portion of the main support frame in laterally spaced relation to one another. The mulching assembly is mounted at a middle portion of the main support frame rearwardly of the shovel assemblies and has an elongated rotatable mulching member extending transversely to the direction of movement of the machine through the field.
