    Abstract: An agricultural seeder or fertilizer having a meter device which dispenses seed or fertilizer to a plurality of ground-engaging members. The supply of metered seed or fertilizer to each of the ground-engaging members is controlled via input from a GPS/GNSS satellite navigation system to prevent the meter device delivering seed or fertilizer to selected of the ground-engaging members which would otherwise pass over soil which has been previously seeded or fertilized. Raising means, responsive to input from said GPS/GNSS satellite navigation system detecting that the device is travelling or is about to travel over areas of soil that has been previously seeded or fertilized, is further is provided to raise the selected ground-engaging members to which delivery of seed/fertilizer has been prevented in order to prevent soil which has been previously seeded or fertilized from being disturbed. A method of operating a seeder/fertilizer implement to achieve the aforesaid is further disclosed.

    Abstract: An agricultural tillage implement employing a series of apparatus to perform one-pass primary tillage is disclosed. A cutting disk is the first apparatus that works the field. These disks cut the residue laterally (across the machine) and mix the majority of the residue throughout the disk tillage profile. Additional conditioning occurs by knocking residue/stalks over into a prone position with large cast spools between each disk for quicker decay. Next, chisel plow units work the soil to fracture and loosen the soil, providing proper soil aggregate size and air pore space relationship throughout the shank tillage profile. The last apparatus to work the field is a set of leveling disks, or a combination of leveling disks and a rotary reel/drag harrow. The function of these will provide is to reduce clod size and leave the soil level and smooth enough to allow one-pass secondary tillage in the spring.

    Abstract: A terracing plow for providing a shallow water terrace system for wetlands remediation. The preferred, embodiment of the present invention comprises a terracing plow having a frame having front and rear ends and first and second sides, the rear end having a generally medially situated, angled chute member having first and second scalloped coulter blades situated at the first and second sides of the frame, adjacent to the opening of the chute member. The coulter blades are situated on the frame at an angle in relative alignment with the adjacent chute wall. The preferred system of the present invention contemplates pulling the terracing plow via linkage to the front end of the frame through a shallow wetlands, in order to facilitate borrowing of the earth from the marsh bottom and building up same via the chute member, forming a terrace for the planting of marsh grass or the like thereon.

These assemblies of the furrow and bed forming machine are operable and cooperate to form irrigation furrows and raised seed beds in soil as the machine, being mounted to a tractor, is moved through a field. The hitch assembly is adapted for mounting the main support frame to the tractor to extend transversely to the direction of movement of the machine. The shovel assemblies are mounted to a forward portion of the main support frame in laterally spaced relation to one another. The mulching assembly is mounted at a middle portion of the main support frame rearwardly of the shovel assemblies and has an elongated rotatable mulching member extending transversely to the direction of movement of the machine through the field.

    Abstract: The present invention is a mounting device for individually mounting rotary hoes on the shanks of row crop cultivators. The tractor pulls shanks through the fields to cultivate the soil with rotary hoes connected to the shanks by a mounting device. The mounting device includes a portion which clamps to the shanks and a portion which is pivotally connected to the clamping portion and extends to a rotatably mounted rotary hoe. The hoe may float over irregular surfaces of the ground to penetrate and dig up the soil. The rotary hoes may be biased by a spring to maintain a relatively constant ground depth, and they may include stops to limit their forward movement, backward movement, or both.

    Abstract: A primary tillage implement having a plurality of chisel plows mounted in lateral spacing on a forward bar, also has a plurality of disc levelers mounted on a rear bar. Each disc leveler assembly is laterally spaced from and centered between the paths of adjacent, leading chisel plow shanks and includes a pair of discs angled outwardly to move some of the soil from the ridge formed by adjacent chisel plows to the furrow formed by an associated chisel plow. The discs of a pair are staggered and spaced laterally apart to leave a narrow band of loose soil in the ridge between the discs which falls into the shallow grooves formed by the discs after they pass. Soil is thus laterally displaced from the ridge to adjacent grooves to level the soil.

    Abstract: A tilling apparatus for preparing a ridge and furrowed field between cropping. The apparatus comprises a frame adapted to be engaged with and drawn by the three point linkage of a conventional tractor. Rotating hoeing blades which are spaced apart to coincide with ridges in the field are mounted to the frame and driven from the power take-off of the tractor in a sense opposing the drawing direction. The axis of rotation of the hoeing blades is normal to the drawing direction a plurality of L-shaped blades spaced around and direction radially outwardly from a hub. Soil displaced from the ridges into the furrows is used to reform the peaks of the ridges by listers mounted with the frame aft of the hoeing blades and spaced apart to coincide with a furrow separating adjacent ridges. Each lister comprises a corn point oriented in the drawing direction and a pair of plough discs mounted for rotation aft of the corn point.
