Interrelated Tool Shift And Ground Support Manipulation Patents (Class 172/212)
  • Patent number: 11617297
Abstract: An agricultural vehicle-trailer combination includes a traction module including a drive element for engaging in a ground, a working appliance coupled to the traction module by a coupling apparatus, and a folding axle supporting the working appliance relative to the ground at least during a transport mode. A slewing mechanism of the coupling apparatus provides a degree of freedom of rotation between the traction module and the working appliance along a longitudinal axis of the working appliance. A pivot joint provides a degree of freedom of pivoting between the traction module and the working appliance along a vertical axis of the traction module. The pivot joint is adjustable relative to its pivot angle by a steering actuator for influencing the direction of travel of the vehicle-trailer combination.

  • Patent number: 10172271
Abstract: A rotary plow (1) with pivoting support wheel (2) for mounting on a plow frame (3). The pivoting support wheel (2) is suitable for plows projecting far behind, such as multi-plowbody mounted, reversible plows or semi-mounted reversible plows with a movable rear part. Furthermore, the pivoting support wheel (2) exhibits self-steering characteristics which have different support or steering forces which act on the pivoting support wheel (2) or the plow frame (3) through the pushed or forwardly-directed arrangement of the pivot arm, and thus enables an accurate lateral guidance of the plow.

  • Patent number: 5485690
Abstract: A lightweight snowplow configured of a number of small components, each easily lifted, moved, assembled, dis-assembled and stored by an average individual. The snowplow is especially suitable for use with small vehicles such as small trucks, utility vehicles and cars. The snowplow features novel alternate arrangements for operational lifting, stopping and lowering of the snowplow and a quick-hitch/release mechanism for easy plow attachment purposes. Finally, the mounting structure to which the plow is attached and detached is designed so as to be able to fit most small utility vehicles with two fore and aft frame chassis members and a frame mounted metal bumper without need for welding or special custom fit-up.

  • Patent number: 4825955
Abstract: Reversing method, particularly for semi-reversible ploughs, where the reversing mechanism includes hydraulic reversing cylinders (10, 11). The reversing mechanism, or device (5) to be reversed, includes a lifting arm (8) which at its one end is rotatably supported at a point (9) which the reversing mechanism turns about, and which at its other end is fastened to the device (5) to be reversed. The reversing cylinders (10, 11) have approximately the same volume and approximately the same length of stroke and are affixed symmetrically to the lifting arm (8). The piston rods of the reversing cylinders (10, 11) are rotatably attached (15, 19) with one end of a pressure arm (17, 18) whose other end is rotatably fixed to the point (9) about which the reversing mechanism rotates.

  • Patent number: 4691785
Abstract: There is disclosed a carriage for an agricultural implement, particularly for a reversible plow, in which the wheels at each side of the carriage are mounted to the carriage with forks which are pivotally received on a main axle and which have lift arms interconnected to a lift assembly. The wheel lift assembly has lift levers fixedly secured at opposite ends of a lift shaft and these are connected to their respective lift arms on the wheel forks by lift links having adjustable pinned connections to the lift levers whereby the fulcrum of each lift lever can be changed by insertion of pins in preselected, aligned pairs of apertures between the link arm and lift lever. The fulcrum positions of the lift levers control the elevations of the wheels on the carriage.

  • Patent number: 4592429
Abstract: A two-way gang plow is provided with a pair of front steering wheels muonted for steering adjustment relative to a pivoted front axle. The steering mechanism for the wheels is coupled to a steerable tail wheel through master and slave hydraulic cylinders in such manner that when a towing tractor turns in one direction the master cylinder moves with the turning of the front wheels and supplies hydraulic fluid pressure to the slave cylinder to operate the latter and turn the tail wheel in the direction opposite the turning direction of the front wheels. During roll-over from one operative side to the other, a lever mechanism is operated to turn the axle to correspond with the operative set of plow bottoms. Also, the plow bottoms are mounted pivotally on the plow frames and interconnected by parallel linkages for simultaneous adjustment of the lateral spacing between land sides of adjacent plow bottoms.

  • Patent number: 4211286
Abstract: A reversible multi-disc plow has its main frame, to which the plow beam is pivoted, connected in front by a vertical pivot to a mounting frame which made for connection to the three point lifting system of a tractor. The pivotal movement of the main frame relative to the mounting frame is resisted by a spring loaded pivot box. If, during plowing, a disc strikes an obstacle, the plow main frame will pivot against the spring-loading to reduce stress on the plow and its parts.

  • Patent number: 4067396
Abstract: Mechanism operating through a mechanical advantage for rolling over a two-way gang plow comprises a pair of hydraulic cylinders acting through respective short links connected pivotally at one of their ends to their associated cylinders and at their opposite ends pivotally to spaced pivots on a bell crank lever secured to the roll-over shaft of the plow, the spacing between the bell crank lever pivots being less than the spacing between the link pivots. Annular rings surround the roll-over shaft for abutment by the links during operation of the mechanism, providing each link with a fulcrum point which is arranged to augment the output of the associated hydraulic cylinder during the initial portion of its extension.

  • Patent number: 3934653
Abstract: A semi-mounted or trailing roll-over plow arranged for maximum control over the plowing components. In such a plow wherein the axis of rotation of the roll-over (rotatable) slow part does not go through the center of gravity of such rotatable plow part, there is provided mechanism by which the rotatable plow part is shifted, and thereby its center of gravity is moved from an operating position substantially in a horizontal direction toward the axis of rotation, for thereby minimizing eccentricity of the rotatable plow part during a subsequent roll-over, or rotation. Hydraulic means are provided for effecting the lifting and/or shifting of the plow components as required for various phases of operation thereof.
