Plural Tools Shifted About Individual Vertical Axes Patents (Class 172/221)
  • Patent number: 5771979
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a tillage conservation plow (100) for plowing the earth and exposing, on the surface of the earth, weeds and past harvest residue. The plow includes a hitch frame (1) and a framework (2) connected to the hitch frame. A support (10) is connected to the framework. The support is operable to allow the earth to pass unturned. A blade (4) is connected to the moldboard support. The support, in combination with the blade, is operable to place the weeds and past harvest residue on the surface of the earth without turning over the soil.

  • Patent number: 5454434
Abstract: An agricultural plow comprising a frame beam adapted to be inclined relative to the direction of plowing, and a plurality of tilling apparatus respectively connected to the beam by pivot connections, the pivot axis of each such pivot connection extending in front of the leading part of the tilling apparatus towed from such pivot connection. Each tilling apparatus comprising a rotary tilling implement in the form of a plow disc or soil inversion wheel with the tilling implement being mounted for rotation about a substantially horizontal shaft which itself is pivotable about its end remote from the tilling implement for reversing the inclination of the tilling implement relative to the direction of travel for changing the arrangement between right- and left-hand plowing. Preferably, the axis of the pivot connection from the beam to the tilling apparatus is inclined to the vertical in order to extend downwardly and forwardly away from the plow.

  • Patent number: 5199503
Abstract: The plow comprises a carrier frame (1) supporting a horizontally rotatable frame (3). The working members in the form of left- and right-handed plow bodies are fixed on the rotatable frame (3). The rotatable frame (3) is mounted in such a manner as to be swingable at one and the same angle (.alpha.) in either direction with respect to a transverse vertical plane (5) drawn through the axis (6) of rotation of the frame (3). Each plow body includes a front part with a moldboard (8) having a share (9) and a rear part with mirror-image left and right moldboards (13) and (14). In order to reduce the interbody spacing of the plow bodies along the frame (3), the side edges (20, 21) of shares (9) are truncated or cut away to form an angle .beta. relative to the direction of plow travel (24) in the working position of the plow bodies.

  • Patent number: 5135056
Abstract: Plough apparatus comprising a wheeled support structure (10) that supports a plough beam (20) that is pivotable in a horizontal plane about the center of the support structure between first and second plough beam positions. The plough beam (20) carries a plurality of plough discs (50) or reversible mould boards (100) that are rotatable about a vertical axis between first and second ploughing positions corresponding respectively with the plough beam positions so that the plough apparatus can produce right or left hand furrows as desired.

  • Patent number: 4984638
Abstract: A plow having symmetrical mold-boards and bodies, the plow comprising a hitch 1 connected in particular by means of a pivot 3 and to a main frame 4 which is provided with a pivot 18 receiving a hydraulic actuator 17 whose action causes a beam 8 to pivot about its axis 7 together with body carrier elements 10 provided with mold-boards 11, characterized by a symmetrical moldboard 11 having a concave working surface which is horizontally hollow 46 and vertically hollow 47, with each of its side ends taken in a front position tapering upwardly rearwardly, by a single deflector 45 for both working directions in the form of a sector of a melon, by a strut 10 comprising a safety system including two elements 36 and 78 capable of moving longitudinally relative to each other, and by a pivoting rear rudder blade.

  • Patent number: 4216730
Abstract: A cottonseed planter for planting cottonseed along a selected side of a raised bed is disclosed. The planter is adapted for two-way operation through the field and includes a tool bar frame having ground engaging means. Multiple seeders are supported on the frame and at least one of the seeders is tiltable in both directions from vertical for seeding operations. Shaping blades are pivotally mounted on the frame intermediate the seeders and precede the seeders in operation. A control rod is operatively connected to the seeders and the blades so that upon reaching the end of a seed bed row, the operator can change the position of the seeders and blades and continue seeding on the same side of the seed bed in the reverse direction of operation through the field. In the preferred embodiment, the seeders are a press wheel type and at least one seeder is disengaged in each direction of operation.
