Endless Track Or Single Driven Wheel Patents (Class 172/258)
  • Patent number: 10806062
Abstract: A self-cleaning gauge wheel assembly having a gauge wheel mounted for rotation on an agricultural planter and adjustable to set the depth of the planting. A pulley having a diameter at least 1/7th and less of the diameter of the gauge wheel is journaled about an axis spaced from and behind and elevated from the gauge wheel. An endless belt is provided around the gauge wheel and the pulley in tension so that movement of the planter, and associated rotation of the gauge wheel causes the pulley to accelerate any accumulated moist soil and expel it from the belt to provide a self-cleaning feature.

  • Patent number: 10220895
Abstract: A snow thrower includes a frame, a prime mover supported by the frame, and a handle assembly coupled to the frame. The handle assembly includes a grip for an operator to grasp. The snow thrower further includes an auger housing supported by the frame, and an auger blade rotationally coupled to and disposed within the auger housing. A track drive system is coupled to the frame to facilitate movement along a ground surface. The track drive system includes a drive wheel rotatably driven by the prime mover, an idler wheel rotatably supported by the frame, and a flexible track interconnecting the drive wheel and the idler wheel. The idler wheel is translatable relative to the frame to adjust an orientation of the auger housing relative to the ground surface.

  • Patent number: 9731759
Abstract: A tractor has a base for supporting a motive power source, left and right driven wheels, and left and right transmissions for the respective left and right wheels. A handle structure is coupled to the base for grasping by an operator from behind the tractor. A drive system drives each of the left and right transmissions with motive power from the motive power source. A single lever hand control is provided for operation by a single hand of the operator for controlling both left and right transmissions seamlessly each between reverse speed through neutral and forward speed.

  • Patent number: 4144945
Abstract: A hand guided power driven garden plow features a low profile double width tire to provide traction in sandy or soft terrain and a free-wheeling connection in the power drive chain to allow easy rolling of the plow without engine power. Another major feature is the provision of a solid steel sub-structure incorporated in the framework of the machine for greater weight and better balance and traction and for economy in commercial production of the machine. Another embodiment utilizes a dual traction wheel in lieu of the single double width tire or wheel.

  • Patent number: 4095662
Abstract: A garden tractor of the type steered by a walking attendant having a strong central structure in the form of a pair of rectangular plates rigidly interconnected by a centrally located cylindrical member extending transversely therebetween which is conveniently utilized (1) to mount an endless ground-engaging track assembly in a position between the plates so that the endless path of movement thereof encircles the cylindrical member; (2) to support an engine and handle frame assembly thereabove for pivotal movement about the relatively low axis of the cylindrical member; and (3) to mount a rotary motion transmitting shaft concentrically within the cylindrical member which serves to transmit the rotary power from the engine to the endless track assembly while accommodating the aforesaid pivotal movement of the engine and handle frame which carries the cultivator tools.
