  • Patent number: 11266140
Abstract: A weed electrocution system comprises a tool bar section comprising a central tool bar and one or more peripheral tool bars pivotable relative to the central tool bar. A mount is adapted to mount the tool bar section to a tractor. A first electrode is associated with the central tool bar, and a a second electrode is associated with the second tool bar. When an electric current is supplied to the first and second electrodes, the electrodes are able to electrocute weeds that come in contact with the electrodes. A ground wheel connected to a peripheral tool bar causes the peripheral tool bar and the second electrode to adjust to the contour of the land.

  • Patent number: 10034431
Abstract: A method for unloading a first and a second bale from a round baler onto a field. The round baler includes a bale chamber and a bale holder. The method successively includes steps of: growing the second bale in the bale chamber, while the first bale is carried by the bale holder; unloading the first bale from the bale holder onto the field a period of time before finishing growing the second bale, the first bale defining a first position on the field; finishing growing the second bale; transporting the second bale to the bale holder; and unloading the second bale onto the field. The second bale defines a second position on the field. The period of time is determined such that a distance between the first position and the second position is smaller than a sum of the diameters of the first bale and second bale.

  • Patent number: 7347036
Abstract: An assembly is provided for towing first and second push-type lawn mowers behind a riding mower. A base plate attachable to the rear of the riding mower releasably holds a tow bar. First and second tow arms are releasably coupled to the tow bar and are each adapted for pivoting motion relative to and in an arc defined by the tow bar. The first and second tow arms are received in respective first and second couplers that are attachable to the first and second push-type mowers, respectively. The first and second couplers allow releasable attachment of the respective first and second tow arms. Each coupler is configured to allow rotational movement thereof relative to the tow arm such that respective first and second mowers to which the first and second couplers are attached can follow the contours of the terrain, thereby providing an even cut. The towing assembly is easily disassembled and re-connectable. Likewise, each push-type mower is easily removed from the towing assembly for quick use.

  • Patent number: 6739612
Abstract: An offset tow arm apparatus for towing an implement supported by at least one wheel having a rotational axis perpendicular to the operating travel direction comprises a tow arm having an inner end and an outer end. A pivot arm has a rear end pivotally attached to an inner portion of the tow arm and a front end adapted for pivotal attachment to a towing vehicle hitch. A lock is operative to lock the pivot arm in a fixed position with respect to the tow arm. An outer castor wheel is pivotally attached to the apparatus to support the outer end of the lateral, and an inner castor wheel is pivotally attached to support the inner end of the tow arm. An implement hitch is attached to an outer portion of the tow arm between the outer and inner castor wheels and is adapted for attachment of an implement to be towed behind the tow arm. The apparatus is adapted to prevent lateral movement of the implement with respect to the tow arm.

  • Patent number: 5423565
Abstract: A hitch attaches to a lawn tractor and draws two lawn mowers therebehind. The hitch includes a draw bar solidly mounted to the tractor, and a link for each towed mower, which mowers each include a bracket to the deck thereof. The links include plumbing tees perpendicularly arranged, so that universal joints are formed between the draw bar and the mowers. A third tee is provided at each bracket so that each mower may be individually tilted, as for enabling access to the underside while still ganged to the hitch. The draw bar, links, and third tee are made from readily available plumbing components. The resultant hitch is thus fabricated from readily available components, is durable, uncomplicated, and has wide flexibility in allowing for various attitudes of the mowers. This enables individual mowers to follow the contour of uneven terrain, turn in tight quarters while being towed, and to be temporarily tilted for access to the cutting blade and oil drain cock without requiring disassembly from the hitch.

  • Patent number: 5261497
Abstract: Hitch structure for connecting first and second implements for operation side-by-side in the field, and one directly behind the other for transport. A freely rockable swing hitch has a forward end connected to one side of the first implement frame for pivoting less than 180.degree. about an upright axis located inwardly from the side. A latch on the swing hitch mates with a frame-mounted rear bracket to secure the hitch in the transport position. The same latch secures the swing hitch to a bracket on the forward towing hitch when the swing hitch and towing hitch are in the field-working position. A sliding tubular member and two-position latch selectively secure the towing hitch in either a central transport position or an offset field-working position. Both latches have release levers for changing from one position to the other, and the latches automatically lock in the new position when the desired position is attained.

  • Patent number: 5054560
Abstract: Lift arms on a gang of implements support transport wheels which are movable from a raised field-working position to a lowered endwise towing position. Several of the wheels at the forward and aft ends of the towed gang of implements are fitted with castering pivots located adjacent the wheel hubs close to the wheel centerlines to lessen side loading and tire scuffing during turns. The castering wheels include a caster control assembly having at least four functions. First, a lock feature includes a spring-biased pin selectively engageable with the control assembly to secure the wheels in an in-line position to permit easy backing of the implements in the towing configuration. Second, a contact on the implement frame which engages the caster control assembly when the wheels are raised off the ground, cams the caster wheel to a preselected field-working position and prevents rocking of the wheel. Third, a bellevue washer on the caster control assembly limits shimmying of the wheel during transport.

  • Patent number: 4938295
Abstract: An implement hitch assembly serves to aggregate two machines. The machines are echeloned in the working position or in tandem in a transport position when moving from one field to another. The hitch includes a transverse draw bar, connected to a tractor. On the transverse draw bar, provision is made for a pull rod of a front farm machine, which is mounted thereon by a carriage. The hydraulic drive installed on the transverse draw bar is intended for moving the carriage along the transverse draw bar. A lever pivotably connected to the pull rod of the front farm machine carries an arcuate beam coupled therewith at the front end thereof by a pivot. The rear end of the arcuate beam rests on a support wheel with a suspension. On the vertical axis of the suspension there is mounted a clevis of a rear farm machine. The hydraulic drive connected with the pull rod of the front farm machine moves the latter along as it transfers both machines to one of the positions hereinabove identified.

  • Patent number: 4896485
Abstract: A lawn mower hitch assembly which includes a hitch bar pivotally secured between a towing vehicle and the front of a lead lawn mower substantially at its longitudinal axis. The hitch connection on the towing vehicle is above the hitching connection on the mower relative to the ground whereby forward towing reduces the friction between the front wheels of the mower and the ground, thus permitting smooth cutting even while changing direction. The lead mower includes connector interior of each rear wheel which mate with connectors at the interior of the front wheels of following mowers. Additional mowers may be connected to the following mowers in the same manner. Angle iron plates having a plurality of boreholes are attached to the front and rear of the lawn mowers to provide a vertical adjustment of the connectors to control the amount of friction on the front wheels of the trailing mowers.
