Patent number: 9078389Abstract: A tow behind aerator is provided for connected with a hitch of a garden tractor. The aerator includes a connection, a float, a pivot, and an aerator body. The float allows for the aerator to ride on variations of terrain and elevation. The pivot allows the aerator body to pivot or rotate relative to the tractor such that the aerator is able to turn around objects. The pivot may be engaged or disengaged to control the amount of pivot. Further, the aerator includes a self-centering function for centering the aerator when raising the aerator to a non-aerating configuration. A universal sleeve hitch may be used to connect the aerator to the tractor and can be operated to raise and lower the aerator.Type: GrantFiled: March 8, 2013Date of Patent: July 14, 2015Inventor: Shane Pastour

Patent number: 6203047Abstract: A device for stabilizing the two lower steering arms (1) of a tractor, with the lower steering arms (1) actuated by a hydraulically operated power lever (9). The arms are each associated with a side strut (6) with a first single-acting hydraulic cylinder (7) for stabilizing and fixing purposes. A line connection between the first single-acting hydraulic cylinders (7) and the power lever (9) can be effected by a control valve (13). In order to center the lower steering arms (1) and set the arm to a pre-determined dimension of spread, even when no implement is attached, the line (14) which leads to the second single-acting hydraulic cylinder (10) of the power lever (9) contains a pressure-controlled first return valve. A bypass line (21) with a second return valve (22) is provided to lock in the direction opposite to that of the first return valve.Type: GrantFiled: October 5, 1999Date of Patent: March 20, 2001Assignee: GKN Walterscheid GmbHInventors: Wolfgang Adamek, Heinrich Henseler, Kurt Kirschbaum

Patent number: 4915575Abstract: A material handling attachment such as a bucket or the like is pivotally secured to the three-point hitch assembly of the tractor. The hitch assembly is movable between a lower position and an upper position by means of standard equipment on the tractor. A mechanical linkage interconnects the bucket, hitch assembly and the tractor so that the bucket will be in a substantially level position when the hitch assembly is in its lowermost position. As the hitch assembly is moved upwardly relative to the tractor, the linkage maintains the bucket in a level position. When the hitch assembly reaches its uppermost position, the linkage causes the bucket to be moved to a dumping position. After the material in the bucket has been dumped therefrom, the three-point hitch assembly is lowered with the bucket being automatically re-set to its operative or working position.Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 1985Date of Patent: April 10, 1990Assignee: Westendorf Mfg. Patent number: 4817730Abstract: An improved hydraulic circuit for raising and lowering a three-point hitch-mounted implement having a lift assist assembly and for selectively lowering the lower draft links of the three-point hitch to transfer implement weight to the rear wheels of the tractor without affecting the normal operation of the tractor operator control valve. A shuttle valve connects the rockshaft control valve, which otherwise would be disabled, to the rockshaft cylinder which controls the lower draft links. The ball-check valve also connects the rockshaft cylinder to the operator control valve while isolating the rockshaft control valve from the operator control valve.Type: GrantFiled: February 16, 1988Date of Patent: April 4, 1989Assignee: Deere & CompanyInventor: David C. Patent number: 4746254Abstract: A material handling bucket or the like is mounted on a high-lift mechanism which is secured to the three-point hitch assembly of a tractor. The bucket is pivotally secured to the high-lift mechanism. The high-lift mechanism includes a pair of pivotal arms which are movable between upper and lower positions by means of a hydraulic cylinder. Patent number: 4269427Abstract: Removable lifting devices for tractors having horizontal front wheel axles which pivot relative to the contour of the ground, one device having tubes pivotably connected on each side of the tractor frame which rotatably and pivotably receive further tubes connected by a hinged structure to the tractor's forward axle and which tend forwardly thereof to be interconnected across the front of the tractor. The connecting hinged structure permits pivotable movement of the tube relative to the axle about substantially horizontal axes parallel and perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the tractor. The front structure connecting the tube portions extending forwardly from the axle includes a hydraulically operated three-point lifting device wherein hydraulic cylinders are disposed within a quadrangular arrangement of pivotable arms including the lower of the three-point lifting device's links.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 1979Date of Patent: May 26, 1981Inventor: Cornelis van der Lely

Patent number: 4228861Abstract: A folding implement mountable on the three-point hitch of a tractor has a U-shaped, downwardly oriented, central member with a horizontal wing extending laterally from each side of the central member, behind the rear wheels of the tractor. Each horizontal wing has a series of downwardly extending tines spaced thereon. The tines score the earth behind each tractor wheel when the wings are horizontal. A lifting mechanism affixed to the wings and the tractor rotates the wings vertically each time the three-point hitch is raised so that the implement is folded out of the way when turning the tractor.Type: GrantFiled: August 2, 1979Date of Patent: October 21, 1980Inventor: Thomas E. Patent number: 4193458Abstract: A hydraulic system is provided for an integrally-mounted agricultural implement which permits control of the tractor three-point hitch rockshaft cylinder, upper draft link hydraulic cylinder and lift assist hydraulic cylinder through a single valve control lever. One end of the double-acting lift assist cylinder is plumbed in parallel with the single-acting rockshaft cylinder and the other end of the lift assist cylinder is plumbed in parallel with the single-acting upper link cylinder. The fluid lines are coupled with a single control valve to permit the implement to be supported by the lift assist wheel and three-point hitch during transport, permit it to rock about the lower connection with the three-point hitch during transport and float vertically at the hitch connection during field operations while operating with the lift assist wheel elevated.Type: GrantFiled: June 5, 1978Date of Patent: March 18, 1980Assignee: Deere & CompanyInventors: Harry M. Patent number: 4087111Abstract: A transfer apparatus for use between a tractor-like vehicle and a trailer-like vehicle connected by a hitch connection means. The transfer apparatus comprises a linkage member attached between the tractor and trailer with at least a portion of the linkage member extending between the tractor and trailer at a position vertical with respect to the hitch connection means. Means in conjunction with the linkage member such as a hydraulic actuator may supply a rigid connection through the linkage member thereby preventing free hinging in a vertical plane between the tractor and trailer at the hitch connection means. The rigid connection may, for example, prevent rear-up of the tractor and shift weight to the rear driving wheels of the tractor.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 1976Date of Patent: May 2, 1978Assignee: Williams, Inc.Inventor: Willard R.
