Smooth Roller With Groove, Rim Or Disk Patents (Class 172/539)
  • Publication number: 20140338932
Abstract: An agricultural undercut implement includes a frame carrying ground-engaging rolling means, a cutting disk arrangement to cut parallel slits in the ground soil, and an undercut assembly having upright cutting edges each aligned to follow a slit, and a transverse blade with a horizontal cutting edge disposed to undercut the ground soil between slits, as the frame rolls over the ground, such as when towed behind a tractor. The transverse blade is configured to sever the strip of ground soil undercut by the cutting edge, and then move the undercut soil strip up and over the blade before replacing it intact on the ground. A method of agricultural crop management includes non-terminatingly retarding the growth of a permanent cover crop by using the implement to undercut and replace intact the ground soil beneath the cover crop. Some examples include drive units configured to drive blades through pluralities of blade positions.

  • Patent number: 8887825
Abstract: A ground shaping machine, particularly an agricultural machine, including a frame, at least one roller fitted with a flexible tire, a first bearing and a second bearing whereby the roller can rotate about a substantially horizontal axis in the working position, the first bearing and the second bearing being positioned one at each end of the roller. The frame has a first support and a second support, the first support at least being connected to the first bearing through a suspension device including a mechanism with an upper arm and a lower arm, both substantially horizontal and perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the roller, each of the upper and lower arms being connected by a joint to the first support, and to the first bearing, the mechanism forming a deformable quadrilateral, while the suspension device also have a substantially vertical resilient return member connected by a joint to the first support and to the first bearing.

  • Publication number: 20140224514
Abstract: A press ring structure for mounting upon a barrel of a press consolidator roller is described comprising a plurality of annular segments mutually mechanically engagable such as to form when so engaged a complete annular press ring structure, and adapted to be mountable on a barrel of a press consolidator roller such as when so mounted to form a press ring thereon. An assemblable roller embodying such press ring structures and a method of assembly and for example of repair of such a press consolidator roller are also described.

  • Publication number: 20090090522
Abstract: The invention includes a cutter drum (2) having at least one or multiple sharpened discs attached to it sections the earth. A pressure face (15) limits the cutter drum's penetration into the earth. The cutter drum's axle (12) is mounted to a frame (1). A pivoting mount (5) allow the device to move in an arc. Down pressure and depth of cutter drum penetration into the earth is controlled by a hydraulic cylinder (3) that connects the device's frame (1) to another frame structure (4) on the material transport platform (a truck, for example) on which the device is mounted.

  • Patent number: 7124835
Abstract: The machine comprises a given number of roller pairs respectively connected to the machine frame by a linking part (32). The linking part (32) of each roller pair is adapted so as to enable the rollers (12a, 12b) to incline freely about a first roll axis (YY?) perpendicular to and coplanar with the longitudinal axis (XX?) of the rollers and about a second axis (HH?) parallel to the pitch axis of the frame (10), no matter what deformations of the road or terrain are encountered. Application in particular to seed drills for agricultural machines.

  • Patent number: 4796550
Abstract: A conservation tillage attachment for a seed planting unit that functions to cut and clear away prior crop residue, fracture the soil ahead of the seed trench opener, and form a trench for the deposit of dry or liquid fertilizer offset from and parallel to the later formed seed trench. The attachment includes a single disk blade disposed forward of the seed trench forming unit. The single disk blade is disposed at an angle of approximately 5.degree. from the line defining the direction of travel of the seed planting implement. The attachment includes a selectively adjustable down force structure and a selectively adjustable depth control mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4693023
Abstract: A snow shaping means intended to be towed e.g. behind a vehicle and consisting of a cylindrical snow compacting means mounted in a frame and having track shaping elements on its periphery. Now that the so-called diagonal style has been introduced in skiing, track grooves as well as smooth spots are needed on a ski trail. As taught by the invention, the track shaping elements consist of parts disposed loosely on the periphery of the cylindrical drum and movable between an upper position and a lower position, and which in their lower position shape the track grooves.

  • Patent number: 4020906
Abstract: A rotary tool for marking a straight or curved groove in a garden in which seeds are to be laid. The tool includes an enclosed drum, which may be filled with water, with the drum rotatably mounted to a yoke fixed to a handle. A rim centrally fitted with an external V-shaped projecting flange is detachably fastened to the cylindrical drum wall. Alternate detachable rims are provided with each rim fitted with a flange of a different size so as to each form a groove of a different depth when rolled across a garden seed bed.
