Spring Moving Or Mounting Means For Tooth Or Blade Patents (Class 172/544)
  • Publication number: 20150101834
Abstract: An apparatus for soil preparation where residual crop matter is present in the field comprising a machine having a set of discs followed by a plurality of harrow modules, the harrow module utilizing a plurality of groups of tines arranged on a longitudinal axis for rotation around the center of a shaft designed for ground working and a spring in the center of the longitudinal shaft is designed to keep constant tension on the tines for minimal wear while biased toward the soil by a pivot mechanism is designed to reduce bounce.

  • Publication number: 20090200052
Abstract: A furrow closer apparatus has a bracket extending down from an upper forward portion of an implement shank. Right and left spring arms with soil moving elements at lower ends thereof are attached at top ends thereof to right and left coil springs connected by a cross member. A spring tube extends through the coil springs and through the bracket aperture to attach the spring arms such that a spring arm extends rearward and downward on each side of a shank location. Clips are attached to the spring tube on each side of the bracket aperture and define clip apertures. The cross member extends through the clip apertures, and the clip apertures are larger than the cross member such that the cross member is movable in the clip apertures. Rotatable discs with a twine wrap inhibiting ring can provide the soil moving elements.

  • Patent number: 6669612
Abstract: A finger roller for agricultural machines is provided. At least one finger disk is disposed on a shaft of the finger roller and has a hub, over the periphery of which are distributed and project a plurality of fingers. The fingers are at least slightly elastically deformable, and a side of each finger that faces in the direction of rotation of the finger roller is markedly roughened, for example by being provided with fine ribs, studs or knobs.

  • Patent number: 6196329
Abstract: Broadly speaking, the invention comprises harrow apparatus for dethatchers. The harrow apparatus each has a plurality of pairs of harrow teeth formed of single steel rod with the ends of the rod forming a pair of teeth and with a pair coiled portion between the teeth and a projecting portion projecting away from the coiled portion and teeth with the teeth acting to engage the ground for cutting into the ground. A dampening coil also formed of a single steel rod has a pair of hooked ends and a pair of coiled portions intermediate the hooked ends and with a projecting portion projecting away from the coiled portions and the pair of hooked ends. The invention also includes a power drum for supporting and power rotating the pairs of harrow teeth and coiled portions. The power drum has a center tube with a plurality of slots for receiving the projecting intermediate portions of the pair of teeth and of the dampening coil.

  • Patent number: 4871031
Abstract: A rotary hoe tool of the type wherein one or more of such rotary hoe tools are mounted for rotation on one or more axles supported by a frame assembly for cutting and digging into the ground as they are rotated. A plurality of elongated teeth or cutting tools are pivotally mounted for limited pivotal movement on a rotatable hub, so when each tooth or cutting tool begins to dig into the ground as the hub rotates it to that position, the tooth or cutting tool itself pivots rearwardly a permitted limited distance against the pressure and resistance of the ground. Such pivotal movement compresses a wedge shaped resilient and compressible member interposed between each pair of adjacent teeth or cutting tools, which limits the rearward pivotal movement of such tooth or cutting tool and which then propels it forward as the initial pressure or resistance dissipates and the compressible member expands back to its non-compressed state.

  • Patent number: 4609049
Abstract: A wheel mounted pull type chassis includes a side hitch bar for securement to a tractor or the like. A reel assembly is journalled for rotation and is situated transversely at the front of the chassis and picks up rocks, stones, dirt, etc. and deposits same on an upwardly and rearwardly inclining slotted apron with the teeth of the pick up bars at the reel passing through the apron teeth and depositing the picked up material into a screening wheel journalled for rotation about a generally horizontal but inclined longitudinal axis so that the wheel is tipped rearwardly from the vertical. The periphery of the wheel is slotted. It is supported upon a pair of spaced apart support wheels one wheel of which is driven and which engage a track around the outer periphery of the wheel. Three equidistantly spaced rear support wheels engage the rear of the periphery of the wheel for added support.

  • Patent number: 3934390
Abstract: A device for picking up debris from lawns and like grounds, and comprised of a rolling drum motivated and controlled through a handle, and having retractile spikes for collectively piercing leaves and small bits of paper and like refuse, said spikes being yieldingly depressible to ground obstructions, such as protrusions, and retractile by control means to discharge the collection thereby of said debris. The depressibly retractile spikes are arranged in gangs guided radially by the cooperative drum structure, and the control means is uneffected by rotation of the drum or by said yielding depressibility of the gangs of spikes and is manually operable to retract the same as circumstances require.
