Tools On Opposite Side Of Longitudinal Beam Patents (Class 172/696)
  • Patent number: 6330922
Abstract: A bedding plow suited for forestry planting operations includes a plow frame that is attached to a tractor or other tow vehicle. The frame holds a pair of trailing disk assemblies that are arranged along opposite longitudinal sides of the bed being plowed. A center-cut disk assembly is mounted pivotably to the frame between and forwardly of the trailing disk assemblies. A resilient biasing assembly such as a hydraulic or pneumatic relief mechanism interconnects an arm of the center-cut disk assembly and the frame. The resilient biasing device urges the center-cut disk assembly to engage the ground under normal circumstances and permits the disk assembly to retract upwardly and ride over obstructions that are encountered while the plow cultivates the bed.

  • Patent number: 5957217
Abstract: The present invention provides a shankless strip tillage tool for no-till preparation of surface soil for the planting of seeds. The strip tillage apparatus has a frame for mounting the apparatus to a tool bar mounted on a draft vehicle. The frame has a pivotally mounted tandem walking beam with a pair of angled coulters rotably mounted on the walking beam for displacing soil. The angled coulters displace soil as they are pulled through the soil by the draft vehicle and urges the soil toward the center of the strip to accomplish the no-till preparation.

  • Patent number: 4316510
Abstract: A soil cultivating machine has a beamed frame, and working members arranged in pairs. Two working members are mounted one behind the other, preferably on a common carrier beam which is releasably secured to transverse beams of the frame. Thus the two working members and the carrier beam constitute a working unit which is readily releasable from the frame. The two working members of the pair are interlinked by a connecting rod to ensure a uniform operating depth over irregular ground and the members can be located on opposite sides of the carrier beam as viewed in plan. In one embodiment, the working members are mounted on pivot pins journalled to different frame beams and the members are arranged in rows that are inclined to the direction of travel. The beams with working members can be arranged in groups that are hinged to one another for elevation to a reduced transport position.

  • Patent number: 3955626
Abstract: A multi-row vineyard cultivator for cultivating a plurality of generally parallel rows of grape vines simultaneously having a wheeled framework adapted to travel over the rows with first and second outriggers mounted on the framework extending from the framework in a direction generally perpendicular to the line of travel so that they overlie a row on each side of the framework. A downwardly depending post is provided on each of the outriggers. Cultivator assemblies are mounted on each of the posts which are adequate for one row. A hydraulic actuator is provided for moving the post and the cultivator assemblies carried thereby longitudinally along the outrigger associated therewith.
