Plural Earth Engaging Parts Relatively Movable Because Of Operation Patents (Class 172/714)

Abstract: The invention is a land clearing rake that is typically mounted on a moldboard on a conventional bulldozer. The land clearing rake pivots about a shaft that is horizontally connected to the front of the moldboard. The rake is comprised of teeth connected to each other by heavy-duty plates between each of the teeth. The teeth may be arranged in one or more sections wherein the sections can be simultaneously raised or lowered by winches mounted on the moldboard. The winches are remotely controlled from the operator's seat. Thus, the land clearing rake is capable of being quickly raised or lowered by the operator while the earth moving equipment is moving back to prepare for another forward move. The ability to quickly transition between raking and grading modes significantly improves the efficiency of land clearing operations.

  • Patent number: 6484812
Abstract: A bearing assembly (10) is taught including a housing (14), a shaft (18) supported within the housing (14) and having an outboard end extending through an opening in an end of the housing (14), a bearing (16) disposed between the shaft (18) and the housing (14) to permit rotation of the shaft (18) within the housing (14); and a harrow engaging member (20), such as a pair of diametrically opposed protrusions or a pair of apertured plates, mounted on the housing (14) and positioned either a) diametrically adjacent the bearing or b) between the bearing and the outboard end of the shaft. A harrow including the bearing assembly (10) is also taught.

  • Patent number: 5947209
Abstract: A shank and replaceable tip of a ground working implement are defined from flat plate which is cut by laser or similar or is stamped to provide interconnecting elements between the replaceable tip and the lower end of the shank. At the lower end of the shank is provided a pocket defined by a recess cut into the lower end and a pair of plates welded on respective sides of the flat plate so that the projection of the replaceable tip extends into the pocket to hold the tip in place. This allows a rugged construction of the tip and various designs of tip can be manufactured simply by reprogramming the cutting process. A guide surface is mounted on the front plate of the shank with that guide surface defining a channel member with a leading edge increasing in radius of curvature from the lower end of the shank upwardly to a top of the guide surface spaced upwardly from the ground. This increase in width of the guide surface assists in discarding trash.

  • Patent number: 4475602
Abstract: An earth engaging instrumentality is equipped with wedge-like surfaces for displacement of earthen material. Rollers are rearwardly offset from the leading edge of the instrumentality and have chordal segments projecting outwardly beyond the diverging surfaces of the instrumentality to displace earthen material and hence facilitate penetration of same. An open, roller receiving area of the instrumentality is shown as being of a non-uniform width to receive upper and lower rollers of different widths which rollers may be of different peripheral configuration.

  • Patent number: 4364436
Abstract: A plow is structured to wholly or partly invert a furrow slice during operation. The furrow slice is cut loose by a leading V-shaped blade and is both compressed, and deflected laterally towards a side wall of the frame by a plurality of rotary lateral displacing rollers arranged in a row inclined to the direction of travel. The rollers are preferably of progressively increasing size towards the rear and co-operate with a soil guide surface at the rear of the plow in turning the furrow slice about an axis which extends in the direction of travel to deposit the slice substantially completely back into the furrow from which it was originally cut. In one version, the row of displacing rollers leads to a power-driven rotary soil guide unit of annular formation, the inverted furrow slice being delivered back into the furrow from which it was cut through the interior of the unit.
