Abstract: A hilling spade according to the present invention has a pair of moldboards or wings defining a plowing angle having a pointed forward end. Each wing has a central planar surface, a cutting edge, and a lower curved surface between the cutting edge and the central planar surface. The lower curved surface has a curvature oriented vertically inwardly relative to the plowing angle. Each wing also has an upper curved surface having a curvature oriented vertically outwardly relative to the plowing angle. When the hilling spade is used for hilling ridges along rows of plants, the lower curved surfaces are usable for lapping lower portions of the ridges for compacting the lower portions and for reducing erosion of these ridges. The upper curved surfaces are usable for pushing soil over the ridges and under the foliage of the plants on those ridges without damaging the foliage.
Abstract: The plow comprises a carrier frame (1) supporting a horizontally rotatable frame (3). The working members in the form of left- and right-handed plow bodies are fixed on the rotatable frame (3). The rotatable frame (3) is mounted in such a manner as to be swingable at one and the same angle (.alpha.) in either direction with respect to a transverse vertical plane (5) drawn through the axis (6) of rotation of the frame (3). Each plow body includes a front part with a moldboard (8) having a share (9) and a rear part with mirror-image left and right moldboards (13) and (14). In order to reduce the interbody spacing of the plow bodies along the frame (3), the side edges (20, 21) of shares (9) are truncated or cut away to form an angle .beta. relative to the direction of plow travel (24) in the working position of the plow bodies.

Abstract: A plow having symmetrical mold-boards and bodies, the plow comprising a hitch 1 connected in particular by means of a pivot 3 and to a main frame 4 which is provided with a pivot 18 receiving a hydraulic actuator 17 whose action causes a beam 8 to pivot about its axis 7 together with body carrier elements 10 provided with mold-boards 11, characterized by a symmetrical moldboard 11 having a concave working surface which is horizontally hollow 46 and vertically hollow 47, with each of its side ends taken in a front position tapering upwardly rearwardly, by a single deflector 45 for both working directions in the form of a sector of a melon, by a strut 10 comprising a safety system including two elements 36 and 78 capable of moving longitudinally relative to each other, and by a pivoting rear rudder blade.
Abstract: A plow moldboard made of a plurality of sections which are reversible and interchangeable so that each moldboard section can alternatively serve as the leading edge of the moldboard in two different positions. Each section has substantially parallel top and bottom edges and substantially parallel side edges. Each section has a uniform curvature and also has two apertures for receiving a bolt therethrough and for fastening upon the plow frame.
Abstract: This invention provides a new method of ploughing in which the cut ridge is inverted in its own furrow. The plough for doing this consists of at least two upright main bodies (4) parallelly spaced and elongated in the ploughing direction. At the front portion the respective main body is provided with a ploughshare (6) extending in the horizontal plane. A mouldboard (7) designed in known manner extends from the rear edge of the share on the side of the one main body facing the second main body, while a second mouldboard (8) is arranged on the other main body on the side thereof facing the first main body. The second mouldboard (8) turns from an upright position connecting to the front portion of the main body (4) to a position where the lower edge of the mouldboard diverges from the main body at an even level while the upper edge of the plate (8) approaches that level.
Abstract: A plough share made of metal having at least two spaced tongues pressed out of the metal and projecting rearwardly at an angle, the two tongues being adapted to engage in complementary holes formed in the frog of a plough. The plough share also has holes therein, these being formed by the tongues being pressed outwardly therefrom. These holes are covered by a reinforcement plate, which is attached to the side of the plough share opposite to the side to which the frog is to be attached.
