  • Publication number: 20100257757
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a machine configured so that its ground speed is at least in part dependent on the measured force that is applied to an attachment attached thereto. The present disclosure also provides an attachment for a machine that is configured to provide feedback to the machine it is configured to be attached to, wherein the feedback is representative of the force applied to the attachment. • Patent number: 6863133
Abstract: A lawn aerator with a roller mounted in a rotatable manner in a chassis. The roller is formed by disks that are joined together and have radial recesses in which aerator elements are anchored. The aerator elements have radially projecting, elastic wire spring arms. In an interanchorage region the wire spring arms have a coil made up of a plurality of turns and an extension. The recesses further contain carrier stubs that run in an axis-parallel manner and on which the coils of the spring arms are positioned. The extensions of the spring arms are supported in a form-fitting manner in the stressing direction within the recesses. The extensions of two of the spring arms are combined to give an elastic connecting clip and form a pair of spring arms in each case. In the recesses, in each two carrier stubs are arranged axially opposite one another with a spacing between them such that the coils of the pair of springs can be inserted therebetween and spread apart onto the opposite carrier stubs.

  • Patent number: 6381879
Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming a relatively shallow drainage ditch diagonally across crop rows, the apparatus, drawn or fitted to a tractor, incorporates a rotating cutting disk set semi-vertical and at obtuse angles to the direction of travel. The disk is adjustable in two planes and is driven either by direct drive from the tractor's PTO or by hydraulic motor. The replaceable disk is fitted with slinger plates to insure proper removal of the excavated earth. An adjustable cutting tooth is provided in front of the disk for breaking the soil prior to being cut by the rotating disk. A trailing wheel or foot skid, in conjunction with a flexible upper connection of the three point hitch, is provided to control the cutting depth of the tooth and cutting disk, thereby allowing the tooth and cutting disk to follow the contour of the earth. The apparatus is also mountable to the front of a tractor, if desired, when the disk is driven hydraulically.

  • Patent number: 5901791
Abstract: A working vehicle includes an engine in the rear of a passenger seat, and a working machine vertically movably disposed in the rear of the engine, wherein an upper end of the working machine which is lifted to the highest position is set lower than an upper end of the engine. As a result, a ventilation in the vicinity of the engine is improved and a cooling effect of the engine is enhanced. Also, a maintenance of the engine can be conducted without being interfered by the working machine. Further, with this arrangement, a center of gravity of the working machine is low, thereby enhancing a stability of the working vehicle, and a driver or a passenger of the vehicle can visually check backward much easier.

  • Patent number: 4762182
Abstract: An auxiliary mounting device for use with a tractor having a one-point tractor hitch. The auxiliary mounting device includes a body having a forward end and a rearward end with the longitudinal axis of the body extending therebetween. Means are provided for attaching the body to the tractor hitch. The auxiliary mounting device includes a primary tool mount on which a primary cultivating tool may be mounted in fixed relation to the body. A secondary tool mount is located rearwardly of the primary tool mount. A secondary cultivating tool may be mounting thereon. Wheels are attached to the body in rotating relation and are located at a selected point between the primary and secondary tool mounts. Means are provided for moving the wheels between a first position, wherein the wheels support and elevate the body and the primary and secondary cultivating tools are held above the ground, and a second position, wherein the body is lowered and the primary and secondary cultivating tools are engaged with the ground.

  • Patent number: 4386661
Abstract: The low-profile, lightweight tiller of compact, uncluttered design is adapted to be rigidly mounted upon the rear, powered lifting links of a garden tractor so as to be raised and lowered by the latter between transport and ground-working positions. Driving power for the transverse rotor of the tiller is obtained by a direct drive connection with the power takeoff shaft of the tractor. A right angle gearbox located inside the open bottom housing for the rotor is supported by the rotor shaft itself and has an upwardly and forwardly directed input shaft that connects directly with a telescoping, universal joint drive line connection with the power takeoff shaft.

  • Patent number: 4121436
Abstract: A belt transmission has a clutch that keeps both belts moving in the same direction when the transmission is in the forward mode and slackens only one of the belts during the usually brief interval that the transmission is placed in its reverse mode with the other belt moving in the reverse direction. Both belts share a common actuating lever having a lost motion coupling with one of the belts so that the lever can be placed in a neutral position in which neither of the belts is driven, even though power continues to be delivered to the transmission. The drive train that supplies such power accomplishes a substantially right-angle drive from the swingable tongue of the machine without a gear box by connecting a number of universal joints in a series that cuts across the corner between the swingable tongue and the main drive shaft of the transmission.

  • Patent number: 4074639
Abstract: A wheeled trailer, such as a liquid manure spreader, has a draft tongue which is adapted for attachment to a draft connection of a farm tractor so as to trail behind a soil working implement, such as a liquid manure injector, which is mounted upon the tractor three point hitch; and a driven member, such as a fertilizer pump, is driven from the tractor power take-off which is in a horizontal plane above that of the draft connection. The length of the draft tongue is sufficient to avoid interference between the implement and the vehicle on turns. The power train for the driven member consists of a drive shaft connected to the driven member which is in a horizontal plane below that of the p.t.o., an input shaft on the forward part of the tongue which is in the plane of the p.t.o. and is detachably connected to the p.t.o. by a drive link, and a driving connection between the input shaft and the drive shaft.

  • Patent number: 4074765
Abstract: A soil cultivating implement is structured to work soil across a broad path and includes a frame that can be towed when hitched to trail substantially behind the rear of a prime mover. The main frame supports a central frame portion and an outer frame portion is pivoted at each lateral end of the central portion. Each frame portion is elongated with a corresponding group of soil working members being rotatably mounted on upwardly extending axes. The frame portions and groups of soil working members are located side-by-side in a row that extends transverse to the direction of operative travel. For transport purposes, each outer group is pivoted by a hydraulic system to an upwardly tilted position to narrow the implement's width. Ground wheels are hydraulically interconnected to the frame and positioned at the rear of the central portion to sustain essentially all of the implement's weight. The height of the implement frame is adjustable with the wheels.

  • Patent number: 4069885
Abstract: A tractor-implement arrangement for establishing a frictional connection between the power take-off shaft of a tractor and a Cardan shaft for the drive of a movable implement by an automatic coupling of members respectivaly connected to the power take-off shaft and the Cardan shaft. The implement is connected to the tractor by means of automatically interengaging coupling members or elements while one and/or the other coupling element of the power take-off or Cardan shaft is axially displaceable while being spring urged. The Cardan shaft is supported by suitable holding means and is liftable by a lifting device. The Cardan shaft is moved first by guiding the same along an inclined plane toward the take-off shaft and is frictionally coupled thereto whereupon the implement is mounted on the tractor by interengagement of additional coupling members.
