Blade Oscillating Arcuately Or Swivelly With Respect To Rotary Carrier Patents (Class 172/94)
  • Patent number: 11864497
Abstract: A vine or cane pruning apparatus, comprising a toothed wheel for guiding the pruning apparatus over vegetation in use, the wheel comprising a multiplicity of generally radially projecting teeth distributed about the periphery of the wheel for catching vegetation between gaps of the teeth, and wherein the wheel rotates by consequence of its engagement with the vegetation and vine or cane posts as the apparatus is driven along a row of vines or canes for pruning; and a driven rotary cutter mounted co-axially to the wheel for cutting vegetation caught between the teeth, the cutter being configured such that its effective cutting area falls within the diameter of the wheel.

  • Patent number: 8291992
Abstract: In a mobile soil working device comprising a machine frame (23), a drive for at least one penetration tool (3) adapted for up and down movement, the penetration tool (3) being adapted to be driven into the soil and to be pulled out again, a guide element (4) for at least one penetration tool (3), the guide element being guided movably at the machine frame (23), a tool holder (2) for the penetration tool (3), which is supported for pivotal movement about a first pivot axis (40) in the guide element (4) movable up and down by the drive, so as to allow a pivoting of the penetration tool (3) against a spring force while the tool is in the soil, it is provided that, between the tool holder (2) and the guide element (4), a torsion element (1a, 1b, 1c) is provided coaxially with the first pivot axis (40), which torsion element, under a force effect on the at least one penetration tool (3), allows the tool holder (2) to pivot relative to the guide element (4) and, when the force effect ceases, exerts a restoring mome

  • Patent number: 7669667
Abstract: A walk aerator comprises a frame supported by a plurality of ground engaging wheels, the frame carrying a coring head having a plurality of side-by-side tine assemblies. The wheels define a wheelbase which is substantially equal to or less than the width of a coring swath and the wheels are located in advance of the coring head to keep the wheels from passing over the holes or soil cores left in any preceding coring swathes formed by the aerator. The vertical position of the coring head is adjustable up and down as the ground contour changes to keep hole depth substantially constant. The tine assemblies are reciprocated by a single crankshaft driven by a single pulley, the crankshaft being assembled from multiple crank arms that are splined and bolted together. Sealed bearings connect drive arms that drive the tine assemblies to the crankshaft. The crankshaft can be disassembled to allow the sealed drive arm bearings to be replaced. Integral core deflectors are used on the drive arms.

  • Publication number: 20020179308
Abstract: An improved method of mounting the cutting head of a sod harvester with respect to the conveyor employs a single ball joint between the cutting head and the conveyor, and a pair of side links spaced outwardly of the conveyor and arranged to constrain the cutting head against lateral displacement with respect to the conveyor. Preferably, the links are adjustable in length to permit vertical and lateral adjustment of the cutting head with respect to the conveyor, e.g. “tracking” of the cutting head.

  • Patent number: 6076289
Abstract: A scarifier machine has a milling drum partially enclosed in a protective sump which is suspended from the frame of the machine by a linkage assembly. The protective sump of the scarifier machine is connected to the frame of the machine by shaking members which comprise a couple of hydraulic cylinders, each presenting a body that is fixed to the frame of the machine and an extremity of a stem that is fixed to the protective sump of the milling drum.

  • Patent number: 6003613
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for aerating a ground layer including a frame movable along a ground surface and a number of substantially vertically placed aerating pins movable in and out of the ground layer. Each pin is engaged by a pivot arm mounted on the frame for pivoting, and a guide arm is connected to the frame at a distance from the position where the pivot arm engages the frame. A drive element is provided for causing reciprocal pivoting of the pivot arm during the movement of the apparatus along the ground layer. The connections of the pivot arm to the frame and the aerating pin and the connections of the guide arm to the frame and the aerating pin substantially form corners of a parallelogram in the non-loaded state of the aerating pin. At least one of the sides of this parallelogram is changeable in length such that the bottom part of the pin is displaced relative to the top part of the pin in a direction opposed to the direction of movement of the frame.

  • Patent number: 5810092
Abstract: The invention relates to an implement for treating soil and, in particular, to an implement used to improve the hygroscopic properties of the soil by making holes in it using one or more tools mounted on an irregular, variable, quadrilateral jointed structure pivoted to a frame and actuated by a linkage system which can modify its configuration in such a way as to drive the tool into the soil and then angle it gradually so as to widen the bottom of the hole.
