  • Patent number: 10675742
Abstract: The invention relates to a striking hand-held machine tool having a tool holder for holding a striking tool on a working shaft, an electric motor, and a striking mechanism. In the striking direction, the striking mechanism has an exciter piston, a pneumatic chamber, a striker, an intermediate chamber and a rivet snap following one another. A closed channel connects a first channel opening in the pneumatic chamber and a second channel opening in the intermediate chamber. A non-return valve, which shuts off during an air flow from the first channel opening to the second channel opening and opens during an air flow from the second channel opening to the first channel opening, is arranged in the channel. Arranged on the second channel opening is a shut-off valve, which is forced into a position closing the second channel opening when the rivet snap is in the working position.

  • Patent number: 10415722
Abstract: An adapter may be used to impart ramming force on a pipe having a larger diameter than the ramming tool. The adapter has a set of collets which interface with a conical nose on the ramming tool. The adapter further has a split ring that engages with the pipe and either the collet set or an intermediate cone. The split ring has gaps which are bridged by a cam connector. The cam connector may, through rotation of a cam pin, modify the size of the gaps in the split ring. Expansion of the split ring within a pipe allows the ring to hold its position without relying on a weldment or other more permanent connection.

  • Patent number: 8291995
Abstract: The root wacker tool is a manually operated hand tool that includes a shaft of which mounted thereon is a hammer cap for imparting a force into a blade located about an opposite end of the shaft, which is useful in the cutting of roots or stumps located within compacted soil. The slide hammer has a mushroom shape to form a finger guard, and can be disengaged from the shaft to connect to a handle accessory to form a sledge hammer. The handle accessory can be connected to the shaft for use as a root whacker tool or attached to the blade to form an ax. An accessory saw can be stored within the shaft when not in use, and can be attached to the handle accessory for use as a saw. The shaft is aligned above the desired cutting surface via a slide hammer that slides vertically about the shaft, and a footplate, which secures the blade with respect to the shaft.

  • Patent number: 8276683
Abstract: A post driver for driving hollow posts, especially plastic posts, has an elongated central guide shaft and a hollow outer sleeve. The guide shaft has a length and diameter sized to pass fairly freely through but generally fill the post's hollow core to protect against the post buckling during pounding strokes. The outer sleeve annularly surrounds a substantial upper portion of the post for similar reasons. The outer sleeve transmits pounding strikes to a stop formation that rests stationary on the post's top end. That way, a user manually applying pounding strokes to the stop formation's upper surface transmits force to not only the post's top end but also the guide shaft's bottom end. Optionally, the guide shaft's bottom end is tipped and sticks out a little in order to pierce a pilot hole in the ground, and clear a path, for the post to follow.

  • Patent number: 8196676
Abstract: A recoilless hammer comprising a moil supported for reciprocal movement along a hammer axis of a housing, a piston moveable within the chamber of an elongate tube extending from the rear of the housing such that it may strike the moil. In a rest position the piston is held forward against the moil by a low pressure air supply delivered from the aft end of the chamber, and the piston is retracted to a charged position at the aft end of the chamber by delivery of high pressure air to act on the fore portion of the piston. Upon actuation of a trigger mechanism, air is vented from the fore end of the chamber to atmosphere causing a pressure unbalance of low magnitude across the piston, such that it accelerates towards and strikes the moil. The chamber is of a length to enable a high energy blow with minimal piston acceleration recoil when the hammer is manually held and operated.
