  • Patent number: 11913288
Abstract: A drilling machine for angled drilling has a platform having a longitudinal axis and a transverse axis. The drilling machine includes a tower for holding a drill string and a tower interface assembly connected to the platform, so that the tower interface assembly moveably supports the tower. The tower interface assembly is selectively moveable to tilt the tower in either a plane parallel with the longitudinal axis of the platform, or to tilt the tower in a plane parallel with the transverse axis of the platform, so that the tilted drill string can perform angled drilling in either position. Further, the tower interface assembly is selectively moveable to simultaneously tilt the tower in the plane parallel with the longitudinal axis of the platform, and the plane parallel with the transverse axis of the platform.

The driver has a hydraulic, impact driving hammer connected to an alignment beam that enables vertical movement of the hammer. Operation of the driving hammer, as well as up and down motion of the driving hammer is derived from the accessory hydraulic system and connections of the Skid Steer. Simple operating control valves, flow control valve and hydraulic hoses, and an operating station are mounted directly to the driver.

  • Patent number: 7387173
Abstract: A pile driver including an apparatus for allowing relative movement between a hammer and a boom of an excavator. The apparatus includes a mounting plate mounted to the boom that interfits with and is slidable with respect to a frame rail mounted to the hammer. In operation, the hammer is placed on top of a pile and, as the pile is driven downwardly, the hammer follows the pile. Owing to the relative movement between the boom of the excavator and the hammer, the hammer follows the pile without requiring continuous downward readjustment of the boom. In one embodiment, the mounting plate assembly does not extend substantially above the hammer frame. In another embodiment, the hammer can rotate with respect to the boom. In one embodiment, the hammer includes a ram, a cylinder for lifting the ram, and rotation-resistant cable connecting the ram and the cylinder.

  • Patent number: 7052216
Abstract: A T-bracket having a pair of spaced apart arms support a housing containing a sprocket wheel and a shaft to turn the sprocket. A handle attached to one end of the shaft turns the sprocket to tighten a chain turning on the sprocket teeth. A flexible wire rod is welded to the T-bracket and is juxtaposed around a rear end of a power drill. The chain is looped around a work piece and attached to a side of the drill opposite from the T-bracket. The handle is turned to tighten the chain and exert force on a drill bit being driven by the power drill.

  • Patent number: 6725946
Abstract: An excavation apparatus especially useful when mounted on backhoes and other lighter vehicles used in the construction industry. The excavation apparatus does not require a winch for letting out and retracting its cable nor a reel for storing retracted cable which reduces the weight of the excavation apparatus, lowers its cost while facilitating both operation and servicing. The apparatus has a kelly assembly housing which houses an outer kelly section, and an extendable innermost kelly section adaptable for attachment of a tool. More than one extendable kelly section can be used. A rotary table rotates the kelly sections. A support structure supports the rotary table and the housing. A frame allows the housing to slide relative to the frame in a direction parallel to the axis of the assembly. A downcrowd mechanism, supported by the frame, downcrowds the support structure relative to the frame.

  • Patent number: 6705407
Abstract: A rock drill includes a mounting frame to which a hammering apparatus and a rotating apparatus is arranged. The mounting frame is made maneuverable with respect to a feeding beam by means of slide blocks fastened to it, whereby a separate carriage is not needed between the drill and the feeding beam. Owing to the mounting frame, the hammering apparatus and/or the rotating apparatus can be replaceable modules. The invention further relates to a mounting frame which is arranged to transmit the feed and recoil forces directed to the drill to feeding means. The mounting frame comprises a section parallel to the feeding beam, to which slide blocks are fastened, and a transverse axial support thereto, to which the hammering apparatus and the rotating apparatus are mounted.

  • Patent number: 6315059
Abstract: The present invention is a portable drilling rig having a support tower. A drilling engine, mounted within a cradle, and a lift winch are attached to the support tower. A stabilizer bar is attached to the lower end of the support tower to prevent swaying of the support tower. The engine transfers torque to the transmission mounted below the engine, to which a steel swivel, housing a quill, allows passage of air and/or water to a drill steel to provide rotary force to power a drill bit. A pull-down system, preferably a weighted bar, is attached to the lower end of the support tower and to the drilling engine to pull the drilling ending downwardly. Manual transport is provided by means of a main base wheel dolly system for easy one-man mobilization. A counterweight is attached to the lower end of the support tower to prevent the support tower from being lifted as the pull-down system forces the drilling bit into the ground.
