Drive By Means Reacting To Rotating Eccentric Mass Patents (Class 173/49)
  • Patent number: 11313197
Abstract: A tool for gaining lateral access to a well via a lateral access passage includes a head portion. The tool axially forwardly advances the head portion towards the lateral access passage and transmits rotational drive to the head portion. The tool delivers fluid to or forwardly of the head portion. The head portion may have an adapter at its front end for interchangeable attachments, such as a sealing device, a socket member, or a cleaning brush. The tool may include a flexible conduit extending forwardly of the head portion. A curved guide passage may be provided to guide a fluid transmission conduit of the tool as it advances forwardly. The tool may have a shaft for forwardly advancing the head portion, the shaft being coupled to a rotatable drive member configured to be rotatably driven such that rotation of the rotatable drive member causes axial forward movement of the shaft.

The relative rotary position of the imbalance masses can be adjusted relative to one another by at least one rotary oscillating motor having a rotor shaft and a stator housing. The rotor shaft is an integral part of one of the axles, and the rotary position of the stator housing relative to the rotor shaft can be changed. The stator housing has at least one closure lid that is at least partially unreleasably coated with a slide alloy, for radial and axial bearing of the rotor shaft. At least one shaft seal is disposed between the rotor shaft and stator housing. The seal is hydraulically biased and provided with a support element.

  • Patent number: 8056985
Abstract: A vibratory milling machine has a vibratory housing confined to substantially linear reciprocating motion relative to a base, causing a tool carried by the housing to impact a mineral formation or other work piece substantially in a primary milling direction. The vibratory motion may be generated by two or more eccentrically-weighted rotors rotated by a common drive mechanism. The rotors may be arranged in pairs with the rotors of each pair rotating in opposite directions about parallel axes so that lateral oscillations cancel and longitudinal vibrations in the milling direction reinforce one another. In one embodiment, a hydrostatic fluid bearing is provided between the outer surface of each rotor and the housing.

Abstract: The invention is based on an electric power tool having at least one drive unit and a gear unit, where the gear unit is a drive element for applying force to a piston unit. It is proposed that the drive element and the piston unit be arranged in an axially parallel manner. At least a region of the drive element overlaps axially with a longitudinal portion of the piston unit. The drive unit is arranged approximately centrally in an axial extension of the piston unit and the longitudinal axis of the drive unit is arranged transversely to the piston longitudinal axis.

Abstract: A cordless vibratory pile driver (“vibro”) may use one or more batteries to provide the requisite power. The cordless vibro may sit in a stand that also recharges the unit while it is in the stand when the device is not in use. The replaceable batteries are mounted as part of the suppressor housing on top of the housing that contains the eccentrics. The batteries are balanced on both sides to distribute the weight evenly. A small battery powered electric hydraulic pump sits in the suppressor housing to provide oil to open and close the jaws. A digital hand held remote control sends the necessary signals to the machine to open and close the jaw and to start and stop the vibration.

  • Patent number: 7866411
Abstract: A hand-held power tool, e.g. a high speed file or polisher has a single rotary drive shaft (8) to which there is locked a first eccentric member (1) in which a second eccentric member (2) can be rotated and locked forming a first assembly (10). The second eccentric member has an eccentrically placed crank pin in the form of a hollow needle bearing ring (2a) through which the drive shaft passes. The outer ring (7) of the needle bearing reciprocally drives a connecting rod (1.2) to a tool holder (9). The drive shaft also passes through an identical assembly (10f) of first and second eccentric members (1?, 2?) disposed upside down on the first assembly (10) and reciprocally driving, in the opposite direction and in counterphase, a counterweight, to cancel the reactive oscillating forces from the tool holder during operation, which would otherwise have to be absorbed by the hand and aim of the operator.
