Patent number: 11103981Abstract: An angled impact wrench includes a housing mounting a motor having an output shaft rotatable about a first axis, and an impact drive unit mounted in the housing for rotation about a second axis that is nonparallel to the first axis. The impact drive unit is configured to repeatedly cycle between an energy storing and energy release conditions in response to a drive torque supplied by the motor. The impact drive unit has a through passage extending along the second axis to allow a workpiece to extend completely through the impact wrench while the drive unit torques a threaded fastener onto the workpiece.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 2019Date of Patent: August 31, 2021Assignee: Klein Tools, IncInventors: Scott M. Patent number: 10774899Abstract: Movement device for moving an object along a movement surface, including: a percussion mass and suspension device, connecting the percussion mass to object, moving to move the percussion mass repeatedly along a closed path, a head, constrained to the object, to interfere with the closed path, the percussion mass interfering with the head along an advance line and direction, connection device for connecting the object to the movement surface to create friction between the object and movement surface. The percussion mass interfering with the head causes a reaction force exceeding the friction, capable of moving the object relative to the movement surface. The percussion mass not interfering with the head along the closed path does not cause reaction forces exceeding the friction, capable of moving the object relative to the movement surface.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 2019Date of Patent: September 15, 2020Assignee: BALANCE SYSTEMS S.R.L.Inventor: Gianni Trionfetti

Patent number: 8215934Abstract: A pneumatic vane motor includes a stator with a cylinder, an inlet connectable to a pressure air source and an outlet connectable to an exhaust passage, a rotor journalled in the stator, and an output shaft. The stator has a front opening forming a clearance seal relative to the output shaft and an annular front cover with at least one elastic annular seal element encircling the output shaft at a distance from the clearance seal, wherein a low pressure chamber is formed between the clearance seal and the seal element or elements and communicates with the exhaust passage.Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 2007Date of Patent: July 10, 2012Assignee: Atlas Copco Tools ABInventors: Sven Olov Roger Edlund, Heino Elmessaar, Johan Fredrik Lindgren, Hans Reinhold Svedman

Patent number: 5025869Abstract: A power-driven impact drill includes a spindle extending at a right angle to the axis of rotation of a drill bit, a rotational first hammer slidably mounted on the spindle for co-rotation therewith, and a reciprocal second hammer slidably disposed in front of the drill bit. When the rotation of the first hammer is arrested by the second hammer, the first hammer is caused by a cam mechanism to retract along the spindle in a direction away from the second hammer against the force of a first hammer spring. Upon disengagement with the second hammer, the first hammer is permitted by the cam mechanism to slide back into engagement with the second hammer under the force of the first hammer spring while it is rotated by the spindle. In this instance, the angular velocity of the first hammer received by the spindle is enhanced by the force stored in the compressed first hammer spring so that a large impact power is imposed to the rotating drill via the second hammer without substantial loss.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 1989Date of Patent: June 25, 1991Assignee: Hitachi Koki Company, LimitedInventors: Yukio Terunuma, Takao Tanabe

Patent number: 5002134Abstract: A rotary impacting apparatus comprises rotary member drivingly rotated about a rotational axis within a casing. An impact member is loosely held by the rotary member so as to be movable toward and away from the rotational axis within a limited range. A holder mounted to the casing slidably supports a reciprocative member to allow movement thereof toward and away from the rotational axis within a limited range. The reciprocative member has a contact surface which interferes with the impact member rotating about the rotational axis when the reciprocative member is positioned closest to the rotational axis.Type: GrantFiled: April 9, 1990Date of Patent: March 26, 1991Assignee: Yamada Juki Co., Ltd.Inventor: Sakuji Yamada

Patent number: 4867251Abstract: An impact device having a housing with hollow cylindrical aperture therein. The cylindrical aperture has a rotatable member within. The rotatable member has axial multiple rods thereon. On each rod of the rotatable member there are captive annular masses with a central aperture larger than the diameter of the rod to permit radial movement of the masses with respect to the rod. The rotatable member is driven by a motor and in turn rotates the annular masses which strike impact tools also supported within the housing. The kinetic energy of the annular masses is thereby transmitted via the impact tools to the outside of the impact device.Type: GrantFiled: May 8, 1987Date of Patent: September 19, 1989Assignee: Kango LimitedInventor: Fritz N. Patent number: 4593767Abstract: Impact device comprising a housing with a rotatable impeller located eccentrically therein. The impeller includes masses located in radial apertures which, upon rotation of the impeller, are caused to strike the head of an impact tool extending at least partially into the cavity within the housing formed by the eccentric location of the impeller.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 1984Date of Patent: June 10, 1986Inventor: Fritz Isenring
