A pair of U-shaped bracket members each journalling a dielectric spool are provided with a threaded rod rigidly connected with the bight portion of the respective U-shaped bracket and threadedly entering the respective mounting member leg for impinging the mounting member on the T-shaped post. One of the U-shaped brackets may be angularly rotated about the axis of its threaded rod for disposing the axis of one dielectric spool normal to the axis of the other dielectric spool.

    Abstract: To install a high voltage device, particularly a high voltage breaker having two interrupting chambers and a high voltage insulator in a simple earthquake resistant manner, an end flange of the high voltage insulator on the ground potential side is rotatably suspended from the support beam of a steel frame. A vibration damper is preferably provided between the high voltage breaker and its suspension device. The vibration damper is attached to a ball received in a socket which is mounted on the support beam. The two interrupting chambers which are connected to one another in a V-shape, are connected to high voltage lines. This inverted suspension is also suitable for current and voltage transformers and overvoltage arresters.

Bracing takes place with the aid of diagonally-braced insulators which are connected together by means of ropes via a prestressed spring damper. The means provides a high damping and a low natural frequency in case of earthquake stresses. Through the prestressing of the spring damper, the platform will remain stationary at low loads such as wind loads.

Seated in the third aperture is a ball plate adapted to be bolted to an insulator.

    Abstract: A high voltage seismic bushing charged with an insulating material has a procelain tube having an adapter rigidly connected to one end of the tube. The adapter is flexibly connected to a mounting flange such that the porcelain tube is free to move relative to the mounting flange in the event of an earthquake. The means for flexibly connecting the adapter to the mounting flange utilizes a spring mechanism to absorb the energy through friction to attenuate the movement of the porcelain tube. A resilient buffer member is interposed between the adapter and the mounting flange to provide a predetermined spacing therebetween and absorb the impact due to the movement of the adapter relative to the mounting flange. A sealing member seals the interface between the adapter and the mounting flange for containing the insulating material charged therein.
