Patent number: 8063311Abstract: An insulator member includes a set of passages (2) (4) which, without intercrossing, extend through the main body (1a) of the insulator member. The set of passages (2) (4) includes an insulating passage (2) structurally arranged to be engaged by filiform elements (10) and an elongated anchor passage (4) structurally arranged to be engaged by the hook portion (21) of the stretcher device (20). Since the passages (2) (4) do not intercross, the separating portion (1d) prevents the stretched filiform elements from being subject to compression upon stretching of the stretching device.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 2009Date of Patent: November 22, 2011Inventors: Eduardo Roberto Fernandez, Cesar Hugo Olivera

Patent number: 5786989Abstract: A mounting structure for mounting a printed circuit board on a frame of an electronic device. The mounting structure comprises a body, a lead, and a threaded portion. The threaded portion is formed on the body, and receives a screw. The printed circuit board is secured to a frame of an electronic device using the mounting structure. Specifically, the mounting structure is secured to the frame using the screw. The lead is soldered to lands on a mounting surface of the printed circuit board by a process for mounting electronic parts (e.g. an IC or LSI package) on the mounting surface of the electronic device.Type: GrantFiled: January 25, 1996Date of Patent: July 28, 1998Assignee: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Shin Kawabe

Patent number: 5448018Abstract: A wireholder includes a main body portion, an attaching portion, and a tool receiving portion. The main body portion is arranged to receive a wire to be secured to a structure. The attaching portion is affixed to the main body portion and has a configuration to facilitate the attachment of the main body portion to the structure. The tool receiving portion is arranged to receive an installing tool. The main body portion has a strength so that torque can be transferred from a power tool to the attaching portion through the installing tool and the main body portion. The installing tool is arranged to break if excessive torque is applied to the wireholder by the installing tool.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 1993Date of Patent: September 5, 1995Assignee: Joslyn Manufacturing CompanyInventor: Frederick W. Patent number: 5413443Abstract: In a unit for mounting a primary insulator for power lines onto a pin, a threaded element has an inner diameter which decreases along the length of the threaded element from its top to bottom. The threaded element surrounds a portion of the pin, forming a gap defined by the outer peripheral surface of the pin and the inner diameter of the threaded element. An adhesive resinous material, such as epoxy, is permitted to cure within the gap and forms a strong bond with the pin, which may be metal or fiberglass. An interference fit, or interlock, is formed between the threaded element and the adhesive resinous material. The threaded element may be plastic, and a lubricating powder may be dispersed throughout the threaded element.Type: GrantFiled: September 22, 1993Date of Patent: May 9, 1995Assignee: Joslyn Manufacturing Co.Inventor: Hossein Aghamehdi

Patent number: 5223675Abstract: An integral cable fastener having two parallel legs joined on one end by an integral cross member or bridge to form a curved cable engagement surface, the free ends of the legs having end barbs formed by sloping surfaces, and having transverse withdrawal resisting shoulders. Ribs on the concave inner surface of the bridge secure the cable against linear or lateral movement. Transverse drive surfaces on the bridge are axially aligned with the legs and barbs. Insertion depth control shoulders on the legs limit depth of insertion to a predetermined value.Type: GrantFiled: April 2, 1992Date of Patent: June 29, 1993Inventor: Anthony W. Taft

Patent number: 5119544Abstract: A tool for keeping an insulating member from turning comprising a base having a structure defining a recess for receiving and preventing an insulating member from turning when a bolt member is screwed into the insulating member; and an upright back secured to the base for supporting the base in a predetermined position. A method for securing a bolt to an insulator comprising inserting the insulator into the recess, and securing a bolt to the insulator while the insulator remains steadfastly in the recess.Type: GrantFiled: December 17, 1990Date of Patent: June 9, 1992Inventor: James J. Jackson

Patent number: 4582288Abstract: This invention relates to a block member adapted to secure a cable or wire to a support surface. The block member has a pair of cylindroconical bores with each being adapted to receive a pointed pin therethrough. Each pin has a frustoconical end with an included angle which is less than the included angle of the frustoconical portion of the cylindroconical bore. Around the open end of each bore is an impact absorbing ring. The ring is of the same material as the block member and is adapted to substantially absorb the excess energy that the tool used to drive the pins may contain by crushing on impact. The block member has each bore disposed within a freely depending sleeve to permit the axis of the pin and bore to shift, to a point where the axes could move to thereby permit the pointed end of the pin to avoid a substantially impenetrable object.Type: GrantFiled: July 16, 1982Date of Patent: April 15, 1986Assignee: Illinois Tool Works Inc.Inventor: William E. Patent number: 4127250Abstract: A block member having a pair of pins preassembled therein and including a recess in its bottommost, workpiece engaging surface. The recess is configured to accept a wire member and incorporates means to preassemble the clip to the wire prior to association with a work surface. The recess further includes a protuberance serving as a strain relief feature when the device and wire are clamped against the work surface.Type: GrantFiled: July 18, 1977Date of Patent: November 28, 1978Assignee: ITW -- Illinois Tool WorksInventor: Edwin G. Patent number: 4047279Abstract: A method is disclosed for upgrading insulators of a current distribution system when the voltage of the system is to be increased. New, additional insulators are coupled with the existing ones, and the coupling is accomplished without detachment of the current conductor from the existing insulator. The mounting stud for the existing insulator is unsecured from a support member, such as a crossarm, is detached from the existing insulator, and is thereafter attached to a new, additional insulator. The two insulators are then coupled together to provide increased electrical insulation, and the mounting stud is resecured to the supporting member. Time and materials are saved by not having to detach and reattach the conductor, and by reusing the existing insulator, the conductor attachment means, and the mounting stud.Type: GrantFiled: October 26, 1976Date of Patent: September 13, 1977Assignees: W. Patent number: 4025741Abstract: A cylindrical porcelain insulator having a depressed opening in at least one end thereof is utilized as a support member. An elongated steel stud having a threaded end and an enlarged securing end is disposed in the depressed central opening of the porcelain insulator. The enlarged securing end has circumferential lateral ridges and depressions for providing an enlarged surface area. Babbit or epoxy material is disposed in the remaining volume of the depressed opening. The securing end of the stud is therefore suspended in the hardened babbit or epoxy material, which in turn is affixed to the sides of the depressed opening, thus affixing the stud to the insulator. The stud has a relatively flat circumferential lateral shoulder at the upper end thereof which protrudes above the end of the insulator and out of the depressed opening. An electrical bus bar or bus bar retaining apparatus is disposed around the threaded portion of the stud to rest on the flat shoulder in a flat surface to flat surface relationship.Type: GrantFiled: May 14, 1975Date of Patent: May 24, 1977Assignee: Westinghouse Electric CorporationInventor: Willard S.
