    Abstract: A protective container for aerially disposed splice packages of transmission cables comprising an elongate, cylindrical pipe formed of high-strength, projectile-resistant material for containing a transmission cable splice package therein, brackets for attaching the cylindrical pipe to the side of a transmission cable support pole with its longitudinal axis generally vertically disposed, a first generally circular, projectile-resistant top plate fixed to the top of the pipe in close vertically spaced relation to overlie the top opening and provide a peripheral opening at the top of the pipe for passage of air, a second generally circular, projectile-resistant bottom plate removably secured to the bottom of the pipe to close the bottom opening thereof and provide a radially disposed slot therein for passage of a transmission cable into and out of the pipe, and a transverse bolt spanning the diameter of the pipe above the bottom plate to supportably retain a transmission cable splice package within the containe

    Abstract: The invention is concerned with a bracket for hanging a multi-tap directional coupling device from a suspended wire, such as a strand running between poles on a street, and for grounding a plurality of support wires each of which extends along a respective cable, connected to the coupling device, for supporting same, the support wires each having a terminal end and a connecting portion contiguous thereto. The hanger bracket of the invention comprises an elongated member having a first end portion adapted to be detachably coupled to the coupling device, a second end portion provided with clamp means for releasable clamping engagement with the suspended wire, and a portion intermediate the first and second end portions defining a grounding plate. A separate fastener means is associated with each support wire for releasably securing the connecting portion thereof against the grounding plate whereby to provide a common ground for all the support wires.

    Abstract: An enclosure for outdoor cross-connection in telecommunications systems has a rectangular housing on a base. One or more columns are mounted in the housing, each column having a channel shaped back portion and a mounting member hinged at one side to one side of the back portion. Connectors are attached to the mounting member, conveniently by retainers fitting in slots in side walls of the mounting member, latch members holding the retainers in position. Connectors clip into the retainers and can be sealed by sealing compound in the retainers. Cable conductors pass up through the channel shaped back portion, conductors passing through into the mounting members and connected to the rear sides of connectors. Cross-connections are made to the front sides of the connectors.
