Abstract: There is provided a method of improving an electrical link box. The method includes steps of opening the electrical link box to provide access to a space within the electrical link box; inserting an electrical link box safety improving container into the space in the electrical link box; and closing the electrical link box; wherein the electrical link box safety improving container contains a filling material for mitigating blasts in the electrical link box. A safer electrical link box may be provided using the method.

Abstract: A kit for recessed mounting of one or more electrical components within an electrical floor box. The kit includes a leveling ring for mounting an electrical component within the floor box, a funnel with a keystone opening therein, a trim ring with a recessed surface, a cover, and an optional divider for dividing the electrical floor box into high and low voltage compartments. A keystone opening on the funnel provides access to a low voltage holder. The low voltage holder includes a pocket to accommodate snap-in mounting of a low voltage component therein. The leveling ring enables leveling the electrical component with the floor surface. Fasteners secure the trim ring to the funnel and the leveling ring. Securing the cover to the recessed surface of the trim ring provides a recessed floor box assembly with the cover recessed below the floor surface.

Abstract: A poke-through device for installation in a hole in a floor structure, the floor structure defining a floor in a first working environment and a ceiling in a second working environment, the hole communicating between the first and second working environments, the poke through device. The poke-through device includes a body defining an interior and having an upper end and a lower end. A mounting frame is adapted to secure an electrical device within the body. A first intumescent member is disposed at the body upper end, and an electrical box is secured to the body lower end. A fire resistant gasket is disposed between the electrical box and the body lower end. The gasket includes openings therein to permit passage of wiring between the electrical box and the body.

Abstract: A pop-up outlet includes a lower housing configured to receive one or more conductors. A middle housing is connected to the lower housing. An upper housing is moveably connected to the middle housing. An outlet is positioned in the upper housing having an outlet body and at least one receptacle opening. A raise/lower mechanism is configured to move the upper housing with respect to the middle housing from a first position where the outlet body is positioned in the middle housing to a second position where the outlet body is exposed to a user.

Abstract: A cable connection system and a method of using the cable connection system. The cable connection system includes a base and a tube enveloping electrical cabling. The cabling is electrically connected to base connectors of the base. The base is configured to be physically and electrically connected to a rack. The base is at a fixed distance from the tube and is rotated around a center axis of the tube by a first angle within an angular range encompassing from more than zero degrees to less than 360 degrees.

Abstract: A mounting plate for an electrical outlet includes a central region having a front surface, a rear surface, and an opening for accessing an outlet. A first mounting tab and a second mounting tab extend from the central region at an angle. The mounting plate may be used to attach an outlet to an outlet housing having a wiring compartment and a panel at least partially enclosing the wiring compartment. The panel has a front wall and an opening for receiving an outlet.

Abstract: An electrical floor box assembly includes a box having a bottom wall, a plurality of side walls and a top portion having an opening at a top end thereof for providing access to the electrical box. An adapter has an open top end, an open bottom end and a passage extending between the top end and bottom end. The adapter has an outer dimension complementing a dimension of the opening in the electrical box and is received in the opening for movement between a retracted position and an extended position within the opening. The electrical box and adapter are configured for coupling and fixing the axial movement of the adapter with respect to the electrical box by rotation of the adapter to a locking position. In one embodiment, the electrical box and the adapter have interlocking teeth that mate with each other to prevent axial movement of the adapter. A locking member is provided to fix the position of the adapter relative to the electrical box to prevent rotation of the adapter.

Abstract: An electrical box assembly for concrete pours. The electrical box assembly includes an electrical box with a sidewall defining an electrical enclosure and a leveling ring for accepting the mounting of an electrical component to the box. Mounting bosses within the electrical box extend longitudinally along the inner surface of the sidewall and facilitate a means for mounting the leveling ring to the electrical box. The leveling ring includes a flange that is adapted to overlap the top rim of the electrical box. Component attachment arms on the leveling ring enable mounting of an electrical component to the electrical box assembly. Cover attachment arms on the leveling ring facilitate mounting of an electrical cover to the electrical box assembly. The electrical box assembly eliminates the need for clips and adhesive for leveling an electrical component with respect to the surface of a concrete poured surface.

Abstract: A telecommunications device includes a rack defining right, left, front, rear, top, and bottom sides, the rack defining mounting locations in a stacked arrangement from the bottom to the top, the mounting locations for receiving modules defining connection locations. A cable storage bay is located at one of the right and left sides of the rack and defines front and rear cable storage areas. Both the front and rear cable storage areas include cable management structures for managing and guiding cables toward and away from the connection locations. A trough is defined at the top of the rack, the trough configured for extending cables to other racks in a front to rear direction, the trough also defining a cable drop-off communicating with the cable storage bay for extending cables to either of the front or rear cable storage areas for further connection to the connection locations.

Abstract: A console assembly includes a console housing with a storage compartment having a member in a wall that is rotatable between a plurality of positions. The member includes an electronic port for connecting an electronic device that is accessible from within the compartment when the member is rotated to a first position and accessible from outside the compartment when the member is rotated to a second position. A second port may be added to the member such that the member can rotate to an intermediate position where one port is accessible from within the compartment while the second port on the member is simultaneously accessible from the outside of the compartment.

Abstract: An electronics enclosure includes a housing having a body section that has a hollow or open interior for containing electrical devices. The body section is configured for flush mounting in a ceiling, wall or other structure. The enclosure includes a moveable front panel that pivots to flip between a closed position and an open position. An electronic device may be mounted to the back surface of the front panel, to be hidden from view when the panel is closed and to be accessible when the panel is open. The enclosure includes anchoring mechanisms that rotate between first and second positions, to anchor the enclosure in the ceiling, wall or other structure.

Abstract: An outlet box assembly for separating and insulating higher voltage power conductors from lower voltage data conductors. The assembly includes a housing, a housing divider and a bracket. The housing including at least one vertically extending side wall defining an interior space therein. The housing divider disposed within the housing and extending across the interior space forming a vertical barrier between a first housing compartment and a second housing compartment. The bracket capable of having secured thereto at least one of the higher voltage power conductors and at least one of the low voltage data conductors. The bracket including at least one partition separating conductor compartments therein, the at least one partition extending vertically and substantially perpendicular to the divider. A floor of each conductor compartment extends across at least a portion of both the first housing compartment and the second housing compartment.

Abstract: A pop-up power and communication outlet apparatus having a hollow leg structure having an interior, a top end having an opening in communication with the interior of the hollow leg structure, and a bottom end. The apparatus also has a power and communication outlet structure that has a sleeve structure disposed within and attached to the hollow leg structure, and an outlet center movably disposed within the sleeve structure such that the outlet center can move vertically with respect to the sleeve structure. The outlet center has at least one power outlet or at least one communication outlet. In a preferred embodiment, the outlet center has a plurality of power outlets and a plurality of communication outlets. A lift mechanism is located within the sleeve structure and is connected between the sleeve structure and the outlet center. The lift mechanism urges the outlet center upward.

Abstract: A lighted floor box having a transparent or translucent cover extending over a light source within the floor box. This light source illuminates the interior of the floor box while the cover permits such light to exit the box. The light source is preferably powered via the same cables that power an electrical fixture within the floor box. Furthermore, such light transmissible cover enables a user to inspect the interior of the floor box without the need to open the cover of the box in order to view its contents.

Abstract: An extension socket structure includes a positioning sleeve, which has a front face with an opening disposed thereon and a rear face having a plurality of positioning slots disposed thereon, and an extension socket being inserted in the positioning sleeve for a socket panel of the body of the extension socket to protrude from the opening of the positioning sleeve. Thus it allows for an insertion of a plug of an electrical appliance to the extension socket. Besides, a bottom of the positioning sleeve is coupled to a cone for fixing the extension socket to a lawn or sands to provide outdoor use. When the extension socket is not in use, a wire of the extension socket can be wound along the plurality of positioning slots of the rear face of the positioning sleeve to let the positioning sleeve to act as a collecting wheel.
