  • Patent number: 11211780
Abstract: A pass-through device seals an opening of a barrier while permitting one or more cables to pass through the opening. The pass-through device includes a two-part seal that moves between an open position that permits insertion of a cable, and a closed position that establishes an airtight seal around the cable. The two-part seal can include a stationary seal segment and a moving seal segment. The moving seal segment can be moved away from the stationary seal segment by unlatching and opening a door on the pass-through device. A cable can be placed between the seal segments, and the door can be closed until it latches, thus sealing the cable between the seal segments. The seal segments can include inclines to urge the cable towards cable openings of the seal segments. In some cases, the two-part seal can include openings for multiple cables.

  • Patent number: 10372174
Abstract: A laminate curtain can suppress electromagnetic radiation leakage from an electronic appliance, as well as assist in managing cables interconnected to the electronic appliance. More specifically, a laminate curtain can include a conductive elastomer panel that absorbs spurious electromagnetic radiation generated by the electronic appliance, a conductive adhesive film disposed along one side of the conductive elastomer panel, and a conductive support frame affixed to the conductive adhesive film. The laminate curtain can be installed within a mounting frame, which secures the laminate curtain to the electronic appliance. Electromagnetic radiation that is absorbed by the conductive elastomer panel can travel to the electronic appliance via the conductive adhesive film, the conductive support frame, and the mounting frame. Thus, the conductive elastomer panel can be used to form a ground plane that catches and shunts the spurious electromagnetic radiation to the electronic appliance, which is grounded.

  • Patent number: 10194566
Abstract: A feed-through provides electromagnetic shielding where one or more signal leads pass through an enclosure. It comprises a frame, having at least one opening, and an assembly comprising two or more joining parts, forming one or more elongated waveguides. The joining parts are divisible along the length of the waveguides, thereby being capable of surrounding a signal lead. The assembly is adapted to be attached to the frame such that one or more signal leads can pass through an opening in the frame and through one of the waveguides. Installation is of the feed-through is made easier by the opening in the frame having a larger maximum extension than the maximum extension of a waveguide.

Abstract: Signals entering outside plant (OSP) telecommunications enclosures typically do so through weather tight connectors, with one connector mounted to the enclosure and a mating connector connected to a cable bringing the signals to the OSP housing. Such connectors are expensive and require extensive effort to connect the wires of a cable bundle to the connectors. These problems are avoided by allowing cables pre-installed with a cable seal and pre-terminated to cable connectors to pass through an opening in the wall of an OSP housing and seal the cable bundle to the housing to prevent the ingress of environmental elements into the housing through the opening. This permits easier installation and retrofitting of electronic equipment contained within the housing.

  • Patent number: 7161087
Abstract: A module is mounted to a object with a fastener and a special washer. The fastener engages the object through a mounting opening in mounting portion of a module case. The washer has a first portion extending obliquely outward and downward to be deformed between the fastener head and an electrically non-conducting surface of the mounting portion and thus increase a mounting force on the module with mounting advancement of the fastener. The washer has a second portion extending axially into the internal opening to contact an electrically conducting insert therein and thus create a series electrical circuit from the typically grounded object through the fastener, washer and insert to a detecting circuit, which verifies that the module is securely mounted with a predetermined mounting force.
