  • Patent number: 11271379
Abstract: A ninety degree electrical fitting for connecting electrical cable to an electrical box. The ninety degree electrical fitting includes a connector body with a leading end and a trailing end, a snap ring connected to the leading end, and a clip member connected to the trailing end. A leading flange and a box engagement flange on the leading end of the connector body define a means for retaining the snap ring on the connector body. A clip member connected to the connector body provides a means for securing an electrical cable to the trailing end of the fitting. Internal walls on the connector body define an internal passageway having a wide turn radius, to enable wiring leads from an electrical cable to pass easily through the internal passageway of the connector body. The ninety degree snap fit electrical fitting provides good electrical continuity between the outer sheath of an electrical cable, the electrical box, and the fitting.

  • Patent number: 7824213
Abstract: A cable connector is provided for connecting a cable to an electrical box. The cable connector has a body with an axial passage for receiving the cable where the body has a first end and a second end. The first end of the body is connected to the electrical box by a coupling member. Two spaced apart spring arms extend from the second end of the body and are angled inwardly to engage the cable and couple the cable to the connector. In one embodiment, the spring arms extend from a top portion of the body inwardly toward the axial center of the body. The first end of the connector includes a coupling tab for coupling to the electrical box and attaching the connector to the electrical box. In one embodiment, the coupling tab is formed with the front end of the body. In a second embodiment, the coupling tab is formed with the forward end of the coupling spring.

  • Patent number: 7767911
Abstract: A grommet (1) has a central shaft (2)through which a wire harness (5) is inserted. A circular connection portion (31) is provided continuously to the periphery of the central shaft(2.) A convex cross-sectionally V-shaped ring-like lip (32) is extensibly provided to the circular connection portion (31) in the direction of the center of the central shaft. A flange portion (33) is provided continuously to the lip portion (32.) When the grommet (1) is assembled to a body panel (10,) the lip (32) of the grommet (1) is extended in the direction of the center of the central shaft (2) of the grommet (1,) thereby reducing the diameter of the lip (32.) Then, the lip(32) is inserted into the through hole (12) of the body panel (10.) Thus, a low insertion force is sufficient when the grommet is inserted thereinto. Consequently, the assemblability of the grommet (1)is enhanced.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for adding wires, cables, fibers or the like from an accessible part of a structure, such as an attic or crawlspace to an interior room from within the walls of the structure, includes installing a drop tube during the construction of the structure. The drop tube contains an insulating plug to prevent heated or cooled air from escaping prior to installing the wires, cables, fibers or the like. The drop tube is installed through an interior support and extends to an access point, typically behind an interior wall. The drop tube contains flexible barbs or fasteners that both secure the drop tube to like drop tubes so the desired length can be achieved and also allow for the insertion and securing of the drop tube into a penetration hole.

Abstract: This invention pertains to a cord connector that both seals and provides strain relief automatically upon wire insertion. The cord connector comprises a wire passageway through a pliable shell which seals around both the wire inserted through the passageway as well as the knock-out or wall opening into which the connector is secured. A more rigid skeleton supports this shell and is provided with appendages which permit the wire to pass through the passageway but which block or resist any removal of the wire from the passageway. Preferably the shell is over-molded over the skeleton for ease of manufacture.
