A guidance mechanism connects the outlet housing with the shroud. The guidance mechanism includes multiple rack gears and multiple pinion gears. The outlet housing is moveable with respect to the shroud along a direction defined by the rack gear. A spring connector electrically couples the shroud to the outlet housing.

Abstract: A switch structure includes a cover plate unit having a holding case and a transparent cover movably connected to the holding case with a patterned section sandwiched between them; at least one switch coupled with the cover plate unit and having a switching key; a light emitting unit arranged in the holding case and electrically connected to the switch; and at least one press section including a push plate movably coupled with the cover plate unit and the switching key with a front side protruded from the cover plate unit, a transparent cover movably connected to the push plate, and a label located between the push plate and the transparent cover. A method for installing an active cover plate on an electrical receptacle is also provided.

Abstract: In one example, a modified electrical device includes a body and at least one connector on the body to make power and control connections with an active cover plate. A system includes an active cover plate comprising low voltage circuitry and a first interface and a modified electrical device. The modified electrical device includes high voltage circuitry and a second interface to connect to the first interface to supply low voltage to the active cover plate. A method for controlling a flow of power through a modified electrical device is also provided.

Abstract: A pre-wired TV bridge kit including a kit, package, or assembly of components for mounting a TV to a wall while eliminating disruption to the visible wall surface. The kit includes a first pre-wired electrical box with a pre-wired receptacle and attached electrical cable, a second pre-wired electrical box connected to the opposite end of the electrical cable, and a cord grip and flexible cord secured to the second electrical cable. Both electrical boxes include rotatable flags to enable installation to existing walls. The pre-wired TV bridge kit simplifies the task of providing an electrical outlet on a portion of the wall that is remote from an existing outlet. After mounting the pre-wired TV bridge kit to a wall, the flexible cord is simply plugged into an existing outlet in order to feed power through the flexible cord to power the first and second pre-wired electrical boxes and the TV.

The magnetic wall cover system also has an outer cover that has an inner alignment surface. The outer cover is adapted to be removably mounted on the inner cover such that the inner alignment surface is in engaging relationship to the outer alignment surface when the outer cover is mounted over the inner cover. The magnetic wall cover system also includes at least one magnet disposed on the outer cover. The magnet is adapted to form a magnetic attraction between the magnet and the ferrous material of the inner cover.

According to one embodiment, a faceplate includes a substantially planar plate base configured to mount on a wiring enclosure. At least one opening in the plate base is configured receive a receptacle. The opening is configured to receive receptacles of a first receptacle type or a second receptacle type. The faceplate also includes a faceplate notch in a front surface of the plate base configured to receive a receptacle tab. The receptacle tab is disposed on receptacles of the first receptacle type or the second receptacle type. The receptacle tab is configured to allow a fastener to pass through the faceplate notch and the receptacle tab to attach the receptacle to the faceplate.

Abstract: A weatherproof cover assembly includes a base and a cover where the cover is coupled to the base by a bidirectional hinge to allow the cover to pivot in two directions. The cover assembly can be mounted in a horizontal or vertical orientation where the bidirectional hinge allows the cover to close downwardly when the assembly is mounted in either orientation. The bidirectional hinge has a first leg pivotally connected to the cover and second leg pivotally connected to the base where the first and second legs are perpendicular to each other.

To accommodate electrical devices of different sizes, the adapter is provided that is coupled to the opening in the recessed box. The adapter has a frame with a central opening to receive the selected electrical device. The frame has one or more removable tabs to enlarge the dimension of the central opening to accommodate larger electrical devices. An electrical device, such as a low voltage wiring device, is coupled to the removable tabs. The tabs are removed to receive a larger electrical device, such as an electrical junction box, that is coupled to the frame.

Abstract: The present invention is an outlet cover that is useful for covering a cylindrical socket type outlet. The outlet cover provides a watertight cover that is useful in marine applications and may be useful in automotive applications as well. The outlet cover has a base that has a flange. An upstanding ring extends upwardly from the base and an annular notch that has a diameter smaller than the outer diameter of the upstanding ring. A cap has a tether that joins the base to the cap. An annular rib in the cap is adapted for mating with the annular notch on the base. The annular rib includes a notch partially through it and is adapted for accommodating the tether when the annular rib is mated with the notch on the base.
