A first row of latching projections opposes a second row of latching projections. The opposing latching projections cooperate to interlock without contact, in a comb-like manner to hold cable within the cable holding element and to form guiding structure that guides cable into and out from the channel area. In an alternate embodiment, the cable holding element has a flat base body capable of attachment to a planar surface.
