    Abstract: A multi-tap electrical connector assembly that includes a plurality of connectors having a body with an aperture extending therethrough and either a male pin or a compression fitting and an elongated metal rod having a longitudinal axis. The metal rod is inserted through the apertures and electrically contacts the connectors to form an electrically conductive path from the metal rod to the male pins or the compression fittings. The connectors can rotate 360 degrees around the longitudinal axis of the metal rod while maintaining electrical conductivity between the rod and connectors and the male pins and compression fittings can be connected to wires or cables from #8 AWG to 3000 kcmil in size.

    Abstract: A quick release connector is provided. In one embodiment the connector includes an electrical connector including a first component having a first plurality of teeth and a second component having a second plurality of teeth. The first and second pluralities of teeth are configured to selectively engage and disengage one another upon connecting and disconnecting the connector. The engagement of the teeth is operative to substantially prevent relative axial motion between the first and second portions of the connector. Embodiments of this invention may advantageously support axial loads while maintaining a reliable electrical contact. Various alternative embodiments include a gimbal assembly in which electric lines extend through the gimbal, straddling one of the gimbal axles. Such gimbal assemblies may also support axial loads.

The inspection neck includes a series of individual electrically conducting parts each having a passageway there through. The self-adjusting members maintain electrical communication between the parts throughout movement of the parts during flexure of the neck. The outer surface of the core has three recesses, each of which forms a series of stair-step notches. Three axially aligned ridges are disposed on the interior surface of the housing engage respective notches, depending on how far the core is inserted into the housing.

This connection member 40 is tubular and includes a receiving portion 41 which is insertable under the shield layer 13, a shield layer fastening portion 42 for fastening the shield layer 13 to the receiving portion 41, and a contact portion 43 to be brought into pressing contact with the inner circumferential surface of the metal shell 30. The portions 41 to 43 are integrally or unitarily formed. With this construction, if the shield layer fastening portion 42 is fastened after the receiving portion 41 is inserted under the shield layer 13, the shield layer 13 is tightly held between the receiving portion 41 and the fastening portion 42. As a result, the shield layer 13 and the metal shell 30 are connected electrically even if the rigidity of an insulation layer 12 is reduced.
