A rotating assembly is disposed about the stationary assembly and one or more cutting structures are coupled to an outer surface of the rotating assembly. A flow restriction is disposed within the flow bore so as to divert a portion of fluid flowing through the flow bore through an outlet from the flow bore into an annulus between the stationary assembly and the rotating assembly. A power section is formed in the annulus between the stationary assembly and the rotating assembly. The power section operates to eccentrically rotate the rotating assembly about the stationary assembly in response to fluid flowing through the annulus between the stationary assembly and the rotating assembly.

Optionally, a controller operatively connected to the vibration device adjusts the operation of the vibration device in response to the sensor measurements of the vibrations in the swage body.

    Abstract: A rotary steering apparatus for a drill string in which a bending section induces a bend in a portion of the bottom hole assembly of the drill string by using the rotation of the drive shaft that drives the drill bit during normal drilling, while operating at a reduced or zero drilling mud flow rate, to drive a reduction gear that rotates a nut or cam so as to place a tension tube into tension. The tension tube abuts a flexible housing and places the flexible housing in compression. The flexible housing has a local weakening formed in it that causes it to preferentially bend in a predetermined direction. Compression in the flexible housing causes the housing to bend, which bends a portion of the bottom hole assembly so as to alter the direction of drilling. Rotation of the drive shaft at reduced or zero mud flow rate also causes the drive shaft to drive rotation of a second reduction gear the output of which rotates the bent portion of the bottom hole assembly thereby altering its tool face angle.

The rotation of the clamp jaws (148, 150) will continue until the pipe piling (P) is suspended from the lifting boom section (12) and is in a substantially vertical orientation.

    Abstract: A vibratory drill head for use with a drill stand apparatus. The eccentric cams are mounted on parallel drive shafts which are powered by hydraulic motors. The hydraulic motors cause the drive shafts to spin in opposite directions. The counter-rotating eccentric cams eliminate horizontal vibration and maximize vertical vibration. The vibratory drill head is mounted to a drill shaft such as a sample tube. When the vibrating drill shaft is lowered into the soil, the vibrations allow the sample tube to pierce the soil to collect the sample. The minimization of horizontal vibration produces accurate core samples.
