With Casing Closure Or Shield Patents (Class 177/180)
  • Patent number: 4416343
Abstract: In an electromechanical weigher to be used in areas subject to explosion hazards, the electronic indicator ledge and the weigher apparatus or weighing system is constructed explosion proof in an intrinsically safe manner, and the power supply in the case is on all sides partitioned by means of bulkheads, and the free space enveloping these constituents is filled with an explosion-impeding granulate e.g. of quartz. For the use as dosing weigher for prescription weighings in such areas subject to explosion hazards, the indicator ledge is constructed by means of a hollow support engaging the case above the weigher dish and above a tare vessel of the usual height to be put on the weigher dish, as horizontal indicator constituent running approximately parallel to the weigher back, and the indicator constituent is tiltable at the support about a horizontal shaft in which structure the electric supply lines are passed from the indicator edge through the hollow support, into the inside of the case.

  • Patent number: 4401176
Abstract: Electronic weigher apparatus is disclosed which utilizes a plate situated below the weighing scale and above a load receiver which is part of an electronic weight measuring system. The plate is shaped in such a way that thermal air currents generated by the electronic apparatus are carried through a low air resistance path from the interior to the exterior of the weigher casing while a high resistance airflow path prevents air currents from being carried upward from the electronic apparatus to the weighing scale. A collar encircling the scale prevents external air currents from disturbing it during the loading operation.

  • Patent number: 4396079
Abstract: A low profile scale utilizes four strain gage-based sensing beams which are isolated from mechanically or thermally-induced distortions on the weighing platform by means of interposed elastic elements. The platform is capable of moving upwardly relative to the sensing elements without transmitting any load thereto. The platform cooperates with a floating lower enclosure system to essentially seal the mechanism so that it is splash proof and washable as required for use in the food industry. Adjustable overload stops channel excess forces around the sensing beams to protect them from damage.

  • Patent number: 4285412
Abstract: Scale protected against ingress of dust and water in which elements of the scale which are always present in any scale are combined with extremely simple additional mechanical means in order to achieve the desired protection, comprising a measuring system, a frame, at least one foot supporting said frame, a load support, guiding means for parallel and vertical guiding of said load support, at least one opening having an inner edge in said load support for said foot, an annular diaphragm mounted between said foot and said inner edge, said load support enclosing completely said measuring system, said frame and said guiding means.

  • Patent number: 4148370
Abstract: The magnet system of a top-loading precision balance with electromagnetic load compensation is fixedly fastened in an aluminum alloy frame constituting the fixed link in the parallelogram suspension for the weighing pan. Distortion of the frame under thermal stresses due to the different coefficients of expansion of the ferrous metal of the magnet system and the light metal of the frame is prevented by openings in the frame walls spacedly surrounding the portions of the frame wall fixedly fastened to the magnet system.
