Abstract: An article dispensing system and method that has a first and a second vibratory feeder; a rotary trough dispenser having one or more receiving troughs in which counted or weighed articles are dispensed for packaging; while the next trough within the rotary trough dispenser is indexed in a rotational step-wise fashion.
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for counterbalancing the weight of movable machine parts of a machine tool. A simply and compactly designed apparatus of this kind enabling a weight compensation even without complex pressure means supplies is, according to the invention, characterized in that it comprises one or more helical springs (1; 15 to 18) the one end (7; 29) of which is connected to a stationary component (8; 19) and the other end (2; 31) of which is connected to the movable machine part (12; 35) for generating a counter-force counteracting the weight force of the movable machine part (12; 35).
Abstract: A combination flight simulating mobile device and scale formed in appearance of a variety of different birds, or like flying creatures, that may be fabricated from steel sheet or like material, readily assembled, and balanced in such manner that when suspended, the weight of the wings (12 and 14) of the bird is used to counterbalance both the body (10) of the bird and the weight of a lightweight object (74), such as an envelope, and provide a measurement of the object's weight and a realistic replication of a creature in flight.
Abstract: A livestock scale has a weighing platform supported by a support apparatus and is vertically movable relative thereto. A weighing mechanism is provided and indicates the weight of a load received on the platform. Primary and secondary scale arms are pivotally connected to the support apparatus and the weighing platform by hanging links. A connecting link connects the primary scale arm to the secondary scale arm along a medial segment of the secondary scale arm. A weight indicator is held by the support apparatus and is connected to the primary scale arm for indicating a weight in predetermined proportion to the weight of the load on the platform. Horizontal movement of the weighing platform is restrained by a pair of lateral sway bars and a longitudinal sway link, while vertical deflection of the weighing platform during weighing is not inhibited thereby. The sway link forms a parallelogram configuration with the primary scale arm and the primary hanging link and associated support apparatus.
Abstract: A fluid collection, dispensing and measurement device for use in connection with a blood container, for example, and flexible tubing leading thereto. A hollow balance bar, with mobile spherical weights disposed therein is provided and rapid, forceful cut off of the blood flow through the flexible tubing is achieved when the moment created by the filling blood container, accentuated by the motion of the spherical weights, overcomes the moment produced by a preset adjustable counter weight. An adjustable clamping apparatus allows the fluid collection device to be affixed to a stationary object and subsequently adjusted to a level plane to insure accuracy of measurement. A simple modification of the device allows it to be used as a fluid dispensing device. A full container of fluid can be hung on the modified device and a measured quantity of fluid can be dispensed with cut off being achieved as described above.
Abstract: A scale system including a vertically displaceable crown supported by a longitudinally displaceable center section. A sensing means disposed above-ground is actuated by the center section in response to a weight applied to the crown. The sensing means sends a signal to an interpreting means. Inclined, mating surfaces interconnect the crown and the center section so that the crown is displaceable substantially vertically only and the center section is displaceable substantially longitudinally only. Alternative embodiments of the invention include a friction-reducing material for the inclined surfaces to render the coefficient of friction therebetween substantially a constant; a sealing means for the inclined surfaces to prevent deterioration thereof; restraining means for the center section to impede the displacement of the center section and prevent overload of the sensing means; and a locking means to prevent removal of the crown from the center section.
