Abstract: A scale with a transiently visible display includes: an enclosure having an upper surface; a measurement device disposed in the enclosure; and a display coupled to the measurement device and attached to the enclosure beneath the upper surface, the display displaying a measurement value only when the display is an active state. Activation of the measurement device places the display in the active state whereas deactivation removes the display from the active state. The enclosure obscures the display from visibility when the display is not in the active state. Optionally, the scale may include a facade beneath the upper surface and a shutter adjacent the facade and covering the display, the shutter being coupled to the measurement device. The shutter opens to reveal the display during activation. The enclosure obscures the facade and the shutter from recognition when the measurement device is not in the active state.

Abstract: A sample changer for a balance (1) with a weighing pan (18) has at least two sample carriers (3) that are spaced apart from each other. Each sample carrier is configured to receive at least one weighing-object unit and transport the weighing-object unit to the weighing pan (18). An individual draft-shield element (4) consisting at least in part of a transparent material is arranged above each of the sample carriers (3), closing off a sample space laterally and from above.

Abstract: A draft shield for a balance that has a balance housing has a rear wall and a front wall panel arranged in a fixed position to the rear wall, at least two side wall panels and a top cover. The rear wall and the front wall panel are connected to a base. The base has a locking device and the balance housing has a complementary locking element. The locking device and the locking element cooperate with one another to releasably attach the draft shield to the balance housing, wherein the locking device and the locking element are configured to release the draft shield without moving the draft shield.

Abstract: A balance with a wind guard moved by a motor whereby the position of the moveable walls of the guard are monitored by a sensor. An electronic memory is provided for the desired end position of the moveable wall element. The desired end position of the removable walls can be stored in this memory in a learning phase and when the walls are opened by the motor, they are opened only up to a preselected position. This minimizes the time for opening and closing the weighing area and diminishes exposure to air turbulence within the weighing area.
This intuitively and flexibly assigns wall elements to user keys.
