Discharge From Weigher To Receiver Patents (Class 177/59)
  • Patent number: 10807812
Abstract: A grain cart is provided having a storage hopper for holding crop material, load cells positioned on the grain cart to measure a weight of crop material in the grain cart and an indicator connected to the load cells. The indicator can be operative to receive signals from the load cells indicating the weight measured by the load cells and to send an electrical signal on an output connection in response to a predetermined weight of crop material being removed from the grain cart. The output connection can be electrically connected to a close gate conductor wire that is operatively connected to the gate actuator, so an electrical signal generated by the indicator on the output connection of the indicator causes the gate actuator to close gates in the storage hopper stopping crop material from being discharged from the storage hopper.

Abstract: A method for weighing sliced products to generate product batches of a pre-determined weight. A slicer slices products which are disposed onto a slice scale located beneath the output end of the slicer. An intermediate weight is measured at a pre-determined point in the slicing process. The intermediate weight information is used to calculate the minimum number of completion slices, based on thicknesses of the slices, needed to meet the target weight. The competed draft is transferred to a check sale where a final draft weight is measured and compared to a sum of the intermediate weight and the weight of the completion slices. Comparison of the weight is used to adjust slicing parameters for more precise targeting of the desired weight of the next draft. Completion slices may be adjusted in thickness to minimize the giveaway weight.

Abstract: A process and a device for bagging a predetermined number of grains with heterogeneous granulometry per sack, particularly seed grains, having a structure for conveying grain by gravity toward means of filling sacks with grain that includes: a collection nozzle for grain arranged on a counter for counting the grain, the counter determining the number of grains n in a sample, a first weighing apparatus for weighing the grain counted, a calculator that takes data related to a number of grains and data related to the mass of that number of grains, and those data make it possible to find a theoretical mass of a predetermined number of grains in a sack, and a second weighing apparatus for weighing the sack, the index value of the second weighing apparatus being the theoretical mass found by the calculator, and when that theoretical mass is measured by the second weighing apparatus, the second weighing apparatus orders the bag filling to stop.

  • Patent number: 5773765
Abstract: A mechanism for attaching a feeder to a vibrator, such as incorporated in a combinational weighing machine for transporting articles to a weighing device, includes a pair of lower and upper engaging members attached respectively to the vibrator and to the feeder, the latter being placed on top of the former. A generally annular clamp is wrapped around and engages with the peripheral parts of the engaging members, and a diameter control device is provided to it for reducing its diameter and to thereby apply an inwardly oriented force on peripheral parts of the engaging members. At least one of the surfaces of the engaging members or the clamp across which the engaging members and the clamp are in contact is tapered such that this inward force will cause the engaging members to be pressed against each other and hence to attach the feeder firmly to the vibrator.

  • Patent number: 5665941
Abstract: The accuracy of the output feed rate or output feed quantity of a differential dosing scale is increased by eliminating from the respective feed rate signal or output quantity signal measuring disturbance that can adversely influence the output accuracy. For this purpose, the size of the output signal variations or of the feed rate variations are processed in a fuzzy logic circuit (9) which allocates the respective signals to fuzzy sets, e.g. "small", "medium", "large" in accordance with type and size of the disturbance or interference. The fuzzy logic circuit (9) forms a filter control signal that corresponds to a filtering degree or filter factor. The filtering control signal controls the time constant of a time variable filter (6) through which the differentiated signal coming from the dosing scale load cells is passed prior to processing in the fuzzy logic circuit (9).

  • Patent number: 5627346
Abstract: The new invention is directed to a continuous mixing and homogenizing plant, particularly for mill products. In so doing, the simultaneity of the mixing of all raw components in a pre-mixing space 8 is ensured in particular, so that subsequent continuous homogenization is also possible so as to meet the strictest demands. The utilized component weigher 4 and the assigned screw discharge 25 are constructed so as to be substantially tubular and together form a differential flow regulator 6. The inner surface of the entire system contacted by the product is accordingly tubular and is subjected to a continuous self-cleaning as a result of the movement of the product. Further, it is possible to arrange a plurality of component weighers 4 in a geometrically identical manner with respect to a collecting point 17 and a very high quality of mixing is obtained.

  • Patent number: 5466894
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for the automatic filling of shipping bags with bulk materials with weighing accuracy. The pre-defined bulk material filling quantities are produced cyclically by controlling the discharge from a differential packer and weigher by determining the differential weight and are poured directly into the package via a flow filling sleeve. The pre-defined bulk material weight is directly packed as a dense stream on the shortest path via a flow filling sleeve. The majority of problems relating to weighing technology can be shifted to the area of the refilling of the differential weigher container with no disadvantageous results and no longer occur during the formation of the filling weight. The highest hourly outputs can be achieved particularly for packing carousels.

Abstract: In a method of dosing fibers, such as steel fibers to be mixed in concrete, a supply of fibers (5) is stored in first vibration feeder (2) and is moved from this by means of a second vibration feeder (3). For each dosing operation, a proportioned quantity of fibers (5) is transferred at a stepless rate or a stepwise declining rate from the first to the second vibration feeder (2, 3) while the second vibration feeder (3) stands still. This vibration feeder (3) then transports the transferred fiber quantity further on to the subsequent process while the first vibration feeder (2) stands still. The fibers can hereby be dosed more accurately and uniformly than known before.

  • Patent number: 5273584
Abstract: The device for the dosed conveying of powder to a powder processing unit, particularly to a plasma spray device, comprises a volumetric dosing unit and a weighing unit which together allow a gravimetric powder dosing. The dosing unit includes: a rotatable dosing disc having a vertical axis of rotation; a drive unit mounted below said rotatable dosing disc; and powder feeding and withdrawal means mounted above said dosing disc. This dosing unit, having first and foremost a vertical extension, is fixed to a weighing platform which rests on a plurality of weighing cells. The drive unit is arranged below said weighing platform, in order to situate the center of gravity of said dosing unit at least approximately at the level of said weighing platform. This considerably reduces the liking of the dosing unit, as compared with a weighing platform arranged entirely above the dosing unit, thus allowing a gravimetric powder dosing with high accuracy and uniformity.

Abstract: The precision of a closed loop control system, for example of a loss-in-weight feeder, having a controlled operating section and a closed loop controlling section, is improved by adjusting the closed loop controlling section with regard to at least two stochastic precision disturbing signals. One such signal may represent disturbances that affect a sensor for ascertaining the actual weight of the scale. The other value may represent estimated bulk material density variations or disturbances. A model generator (7) provides spectra representing these disturbing values. A noise parameter estimator (17) selects those spectra most closely resembling the spectra of the disturbing values for producing an adjusting signal that is used to adapt the closed loop controlling section (5) to an optimal control. The closed loop controlling section (5) has connected thereto an evaluating circuit (14) including the model generator (7) for performing the correction or adjustment.
