  • Patent number: 9535672
Abstract: A method and compiling device are provided for compiling a software application to be executed on a virtual machine of a physical platform. The software application originally is in the form of a set of codes to be compiled. The method includes a phase of selectively compiling the set of codes to be compiled, outputting a compiled application including a first application part which is executed by the virtual machine using commands from the virtual machine, and a second application part including binary commands which can be executed directly on the physical platform.

  • Patent number: 8572159
Abstract: Machine-readable media, methods, apparatus and system are described. In some embodiments, a client platform may determine that an input/output operation related to a hardware device may happen in a virtual machine of the client platform and request a server platform via the network to handle the input/output operation related to the hardware. The server platform may receive the request from the client platform through the network; and identify a software device from a plurality of software devices in the server platform to handle the request, wherein the identified software device corresponds to the hardware device related to the input/output operation.

  • Patent number: 8069445
Abstract: A thread analysis tool records a set of currently-held synchronization objects and currently-acquired objects when a thread acquires one or more objects, then searches for a lock acquisition hierarchy violation that may cause program deadlock. If a violation is found, it is reported to the user. Software to implement the methods of the analysis tool, and systems using the methods, are also described and claimed.

  • Patent number: 5418334
Abstract: Digital signal cross connect communication systems include a plurality of tracer circuits within a particular shelf, a plurality of shelves within a particular rack, a plurality of racks within a particular row, and, generally, a plurality of rows within the office in which the circuitry of the digital signal cross connect communication system is located. In order to facilitate a technician in determining the specific location of an engaged tracer circuit, row indicator lamps may be provided to indicate the particular row the engaged tracer circuit is located in. Also, rack lamp indicators located above each rack and shelf lamp indicators located within each shelf may also be provided to indicate the particular rack and shelf an engaged tracer circuit is located.

  • Patent number: 4807276
Abstract: In a communication system having an automatic transmission/reception function to perform data communications through telephone lines associated with teletex systems, facsimile systems and the like, re-transmission operations are performed when an addressee called for communications is busy (calling) or when communications is interrupted after an addressee has responded. In the re-transmission operation, a response from an addressee is detected and decided as to whether the response is automatically originated from a communication unit or originated by a person. When the latter response is detected, a wrong telephoning is decided and restrictions are placed on the re-transmission operation to thereby minimize trouble given to the addressee.

  • Patent number: 4714802
Abstract: A direction sensitive coupling unit, and method of operation, is disclosed for use in a communication medium to indicate the presence and source direction of transmissions. A directional coupler is provided for receiving information signals from first and second directions along the medium and for providing an attenuated information signal as its output wherein the attenuation to information signals received from the first direction is greater than the attenuation to signals received from the second direction. A voltage sensitive indicating circuit is coupled to the medium and is adapted to respond to the coupler output for providing a digital indication of the presence and source direction of transmissions on the medium.
