Abstract: Systems and methods are described that provide a wireless hand-held inertial controller for use with a head-mounted, augmented reality (AR) or virtual reality (VR) display or other conventional display that operates with six degrees of freedom by fusing (i) data related to the position of the hand-held inertial controller derived from a depth camera located on the display with (ii) data relating to the orientation of the hand-held inertial controller derived from an inertial measurement unit located in the hand-held inertial controller.

Abstract: This invention is the design for a sensing circuit. The above detailed description defines the two main sensing techniques: Capacitive and Conductive sensing. The sensors used can be placed along the surface or under the surface, which in many cases will be a wire or cable in as many places as desired by the user or manufacturer. Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to a technique for determining a valid sequence of touch events on a touch sensitive device. A first sequence of touch events is received, a proximity between any two touch events of the first sequence of touch events being greater than a proximity threshold. A second sequence of touch events is received. The touch events from the first and the second sequence are combined if a time difference between the first and the second sequence of touch events is below a time threshold and a proximity between the first and the second sequence of touch events is less than the proximity threshold. A valid sequence of touch events is determined if a combined pressure of the first and the second sequence of touch events is greater than a pressure threshold.

Abstract: A touch sensor panel having column traces that can terminate at a short edge of a substrate is disclosed. A flex circuit can have a wide flex circuit portion extending the full width of the short edge that can bond to the bond pads on the top side of the substrate. It can be undesirable to have column traces (e.g., sense lines) and row traces (e.g., drives lines) cross over each other at the bonding area, and it can also be undesirable to have bond pads formed on directly opposing sides of the substrate because such areas can generate unwanted stray mutual capacitance and coupling of signals. Row traces can be routed to the same short edge of the substrate as column traces using wide conductive traces running along the borders of the substrate.

Abstract: A method for reducing line display latency on a touchpad device is disclosed. The method comprises storing information regarding a plurality of prior touch events on a touch screen of the touchpad device into an event buffer. It further comprises determining an average speed and a predicted direction of motion of a user interaction with the touch screen using the plurality of prior touch events. Next, it comprises calculating a first prediction point using the average speed, the predicted direction, and a last known touch event on the touch screen. Subsequently, it comprises applying weighted filtering on the first prediction point using a measured line curvature to determine a second prediction point. Finally, it comprises rendering a prediction line between the last known touch event on the touch screen and the second prediction point.

Abstract: A capacitive touch panel is provided capable of detecting multiple simultaneous touches. The touch panel delivers sets of capacitance signal values to a processor which computes the coordinates of single or multiple touch locations on the touch panel. The processing of each set is performed by (i) identifying the sensing element having the largest capacitance signal value; (ii) defining a region around that sensing element; and (iii) repeating the process iteratively, wherein each subsequent identifying step excludes signals that lie in previously defined regions. A multi-touch sensor is thus provided in which the signal processing is based on successive definition of regions or sub-blocks in the touch: panel. The touch location in each region can be determined more accurately by then applying interpolation between the adjacent signal values. This allows for position resolution at a finer scale than that defined by the touch panel's electrode patterning.

Each picture element includes: first and second pixels each including a light-emitting element which has a chromaticity whose x-coordinate in a CIE-XY chromaticity diagram is 0.50 or more; third and fourth pixels each including a light-emitting element which has a chromaticity whose y-coordinate in the diagram is 0.55 or more; and fifth and sixth pixels each including a light-emitting element which has a chromaticity whose x-coordinate and y-coordinate in the diagram are 0.20 or less and 0.25 or less, respectively. Abstract: Embodiments described herein include an input device, a display device having a capacitive sensing device, a processing system and a method for detecting presence of an input object using a capacitive sensing device. Abstract: A touch sensing system includes a capacitive sense array. Each sensor has a unique location type. The system includes a capacitance measurement circuit coupled to the array, which measures capacitance changes at each sensor. The system also includes a memory device that stores three or more adjustment parameters. Each parameter corresponds to one or more location types, and is used in computing virtual sensor values. The system receives measured capacitance changes corresponding to a touch on the array and identifies a first sensor whose measured capacitance change is a local maximum. The system determines a location type of the first sensor. According to the location type, the adjustment parameters corresponding to the location type, and the measured capacitance changes, the system computes virtual sensor measurements. The system then computes a centroid of the touch using the measured capacitance changes and the virtual sensor measurements.

Touch sensor circuitry may be coupled to horizontal and vertical capacitive touch sensor electrodes formed from the transparent conductive layer. A touch sensor signal border routing path in an inactive area of the display may have openings that run parallel to the gate lines and that each overlap one of the gate lines to reduce capacitive coupling between the gate lines and the touch sensor signal border routing path.

Abstract: An optical touch-sensitive device includes a planar optical waveguide structure having a planar optical waveguide, and transducers that are able to activate to vibrate a top surface of the planar optical waveguide structure. Abstract: A knowledge model “overlay” for organizing and analyzing large, dynamic data volumes is implemented as a hypergraph that manifests as a result of a distributed theory-driven data source transformation process. This process maps exponentially growing data into an asymptotically limited information space. Within this space, real-world entities (e.g. people, computers, cities, Earth) and their complex interdependencies (e.g. social networks, connectivity, causal relationships) are represented as attributed hypergraph elements (i.e. both hypervertices and hyperedges). Attributes are represented as state vectors affixed to any hypergraph element. Transformation of source system data into this overlay structure is accomplished with minimal data movement and replication using a universal “pointer” like mechanism that is managed in a decentralized fashion by the respective transformation components.
Abstract: Evaluation values regarding a change in velocity of an object at coordinates of a detection surface are calculated on the basis of a series of coordinate data of the same object, and it is determined whether there is an error in each coordinate data on the basis of the evaluation values. In a case in which an extreme change in a velocity of the object occurs due to an influence of noise or the like, it is possible to accurately determine an error of the coordinate data on the basis of the evaluation values. Abstract: An electronic device with a processing device and a storage device also has a touch panel and a pressure sensing device. A press signal of a touch from the pressure sensing device is detected by the processing device when a simple touch signal on the touch panel is also detected. Abstract: Mobile device application access is managing by a hierarchical password protection mechanism. In this scheme, a set of passwords is configured in a hierarchy, wherein a password at a higher level in the hierarchy authorizes greater permissions than a password at a lower level in the hierarchy. The method for fabricating the touch panel forms a pattern of a protruding structure on a base substrate by using a negative photoresist material, and the pattern of the protruding structure formed thereon is a pattern having a cross section which gradually increases from the base substrate to the outside surface and is similar to an inverted trapezoidal. Thereafter patterns of a touch electrode and dummy electrode insulated from each other are formed by using the pattern of the formed protruding structure as a mask. As the pattern of the touch electrode and the dummy electrode are disconnected through level difference of the protruding structure, the patterns of the touch electrode and the dummy electrode overlay the whole base substrate from the top view, allowing the whole surface of the touch panel to have the same optical property.

Abstract: A system for simulated communication is described. A simulator module generates simulated communication information. A Graphical User Interface module (“GUI module”) generates graphical data based at least in part on the simulated communication information. Abstract: A method for forming a metal mesh pattern is provided. The method includes the operations below. First, at least one pitch of each of mesh base units of a mesh base is determined, and thereby the mesh base is formed. Then, a seed region is set in each of the mesh base units of the mesh base, in which a ratio of an area of each of the seed regions to an area of each of the mesh base units is a constant. Then, a plurality of seeds are generated by randomly selecting a point in each of the seed regions.
