Abstract: Digital signal cross connect communication systems include a plurality of tracer circuits within a particular shelf, a plurality of shelves within a particular rack, a plurality of racks within a particular row, and, generally, a plurality of rows within the office in which the circuitry of the digital signal cross connect communication system is located. In order to facilitate a technician in determining the specific location of an engaged tracer circuit, row indicator lamps may be provided to indicate the particular row the engaged tracer circuit is located in. Also, rack lamp indicators located above each rack and shelf lamp indicators located within each shelf may also be provided to indicate the particular rack and shelf an engaged tracer circuit is located.
Abstract: A cross-connect frame for digital signals transmitted at DS-1 and higher rates independent of signal format is disclosed. In its simplest form the frame includes a single chassis into which boards providing for either a mechanical or electronically controllable connection may be inserted. In either the mechanical or electronic form provisions for monitoring and patching are included. Multiple chassis may be connected together and in the electronic form a single circuit has the capability of controlling a multiplicity of chassis.
Abstract: An optical picture recording system is constructed such that the lens is a linear lens, and the linear lens or the cathode ray tube is moved so as to confront the electron beam from the cathode ray tube with the linear lens at all times while, when recording one frame, the recording paper is moved in synchronism with movement of the linear lens or the cathode ray tube.
Abstract: Apparatus is described for switching between various current values in terminal equipment or remote units of data transmission systems using either mechanical or electronic switches. The connecting paths in a number of switches are connected in series between two current-carrying wires. Diodes polarized in the same direction are also connected between the wires and are interspersed in parallel between switch connecting paths.
Abstract: The invention provides a method of and apparatus for recording latent photographic images on film by scanning the film in a raster pattern with a spot produced by focusing onto the film a beam of radiation, for example a laser beam, which is modulated in accordance with the retrieval of pictorial data defining an image to be recorded, the data comprising a plurality of elemental data each defining a required spot intensity at a respective elemental image area and a plurality of corrective data defining geometrical distortions of the image to be recorded. Clock signals are produced in accordance with the traverse of the spot, and the elemental data are retrieved in accordance with the production of the clock pulses the production of the clock signals being modified in accordance with the corrective data so as to determine the retrieval of the elemental data so as to set the spot intensity at the required level for each elemental image area as modified by the corrective data.
