And Electrical Quantities Comparison Means For Development Of Electrical Input Patents (Class 180/179)
  • Patent number: 4328776
Abstract: A vehicle speed control system includes a first generator for producing an operation signal upon closure of a set switch at a desired vehicle speed and receipt of a timing signal from a second generator responsive to the actual vehicle speed, the operation signal disappearing in response to one of the subsequent timing signals. A first calculator calculates a first time difference between predetermined and instant time periods respectively defined by the desired and actual vehicle speeds, and a second calculator calculates a second time difference between the respective instant time periods. A third generator produces a correction signal defined by the second time difference during generation of the operation signal and produces another correction signal defined by the sum or a difference of the time differences in relation to identical or opposite signs of the time differences after disappearance of the operation signal.

  • Patent number: 4301883
Abstract: A device for the control of the traveling speed of a motor vehicle with a regulating member actuatable by the vehicle driver and giving off an electrical signal, the regulating member being connected with the desired-value input of an electrical controller, the output signal of which acts on an adjustment actuator. The latter is coupled with the element which influences the fuel-air mixture, particularly the throttle valve, and the instantaneous position of the adjustment actuator is transmitted as an electric signal to the actual-value input of the controller. A correction circuit is connected with the actual-value input or the desired-value input of the controller. For the correction of the throttle-valve displacement which is dependent on the regulating member, this circuit produces a signal which is a function of one or more operating parameters which are related to the fuel consumption.

  • Patent number: 4286685
Abstract: An automatic speed control for a vehicle having a source of compressed air, such as a heavy duty truck, includes a logic controller which controls a pair of solenoid valves to regulate communication between the compressed air source and an air actuated throttle. The controller is responsive to initiation of speed control by actuation of the appropriate switch by the vehicle operator to use inputs representing wheel speed (or engine speed) and the position of the vehicle throttle to generate an error signal. The controller compares the error signal with a signal representing a desired or memorized speed set by the vehicle operator and controls the air actuated throttle accordingly.

  • Patent number: 4273208
Abstract: Signals representing actual and desired speeds of a vehicle are separately applied to a plurality of parallel comparator channels or devices. Each comparator device responds to a different level of difference between the speed signals, when actual is greater than desired, to produce output signals at successively higher levels. The first comparator device controls a first deceleration device, e.g., an exhaust throttle, to reduce vehicle speed when an output signal is produced at the first preselected level of difference. The second and third comparator devices control the second and third deceleration devices, respectively, e.g., an eddy-current brake, automatic transmission, etc., when each produces an output signal at its preselected difference level, but only if the next lower comparator output has enabled a gate or switch coupling the higher level comparator and deceleration devices.
