System Comprises Clutch Patents (Class 180/278)
  • Patent number: 11794714
Abstract: A sensorless clutch state feedback method is provided including a driveline disconnect. To engage the sensorless disconnect, respective speeds of a motor assembly and the sensorless disconnect are synchronized to within a speed delta threshold of each other, a control system facilitates the engagement of the motor assembly and the sensorless disconnect, and the control system determines the success of the engagement by the motor speed response of the motor assembly (e.g., whether the presence of a load is detected).

  • Patent number: 10486662
Abstract: When a collision between a vehicle and a physical object is detected, a notification control unit transmits a notification command to a notification device. Upon receiving the notification command, the notification device notifies an external emergency notification center. While the notification device is notifying the emergency notification center, a brake control unit maintains the actuated state of a brake device and stops the vehicle. This configuration makes it possible to prevent any increase in accidents after a vehicle collision, and to prevent the driver from escaping.

  • Patent number: 9428053
Abstract: An electronic control unit performs a reduction control for reducing vehicle drive force when the accelerator and the brake are operated simultaneously. The electronic control unit also varies the amount of decrease in the vehicle drive force during the reduction control and conditions under which the reduction control is implemented depending on the order of the accelerator operation and brake operation resulting in the above-noted simultaneous operation. For example, the amount of decrease in the vehicle drive force is less when the brake is operated first in comparison with when the accelerator is operated first. Thus, it is possible to operate the vehicle drive force in accordance with the intention of the driver.

  • Patent number: 7702441
Abstract: A safety logic for vehicle rollover detection systems comprising a main rollover detection logic and at least one protection device for the occupant or occupants of the vehicle, including a vehicle lateral acceleration sensor (11), which generates an output signal indicating a near rollover event, when a lateral acceleration of a vehicle exceeds the first predefined threshold value (15) or, when a lateral acceleration of vehicle exceeds the second predefined threshold value (16) that is lower than the first predefined threshold value (15) and simultaneously at least one additional safety logic activation signal is present (1, 1?, 1?, 1??).

  • Patent number: 5007516
Abstract: According to the motor vehicle braking apparatus of the present invention, the engine throttle valve is closed when the driver treads the accelerator pedal to an extent exceeding a predetermined range, and the brakes are applied when the driver further treads the accelerator pedal to an extent equal to or greater than a predetermined limit. The braking force is adjusted according to the accelerator pedal treading. When the accelerator pedal treading is released to an extent equal to or greater than a predetermined limit, the application of the brakes is released. However, the engine throttle valve still remains closed. The normal function as the accelerator pedal is restored only after the accelerator pedal treading has been released to an extent near the level causing the accelerator pedal to be fully released.

  • Patent number: 4651142
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for the protection of a clutch against overheating, specifically a clutch which is located between a combustion motor and a transmission. To ensure protection of the clutch against overheating for most operating conditions, there is an apparatus to determine the drive torque for the determination of the clutch torque or the drive torque transmitted by the clutch, an apparatus for the determination of the slip between the clutch input speed and the clutch output speed, a computer apparatus to determine the product of the clutch or drive torque to be transmitted and the slip, and a monitoring apparatus which combines the value of the product of the clutch torque to be transmitted and the slip with alarm delay times and compares the current slip time with the alarm delay times, and when the alarm delay times are exceeded by the slip times, gives an alarm signal.

  • Patent number: 4488140
Abstract: An agricultural vehicle, such as a tractor, includes an engine and a hydraulic assist-type transmission coupled together by a clutch. A monitor includes sensors for sensing engine speed, clutch temperature and transmission temperature. Warning signals are generated if the clutch temperature is continuously and at least a certain amount hotter than the transmission temperature for a certain time period. The warning signals are disabled if the engine speed is less than a threshold and for a certain time interval after the engine speed exceeds the threshold.
