    Abstract: To provide an engine supporting structure for a motorcycle, which is capable of integrating an engine with a body frame so as to make the engine effectively function as a member for reinforcing the body frame, while preventing the supporting structure of the engine from being affected by disposition of a chain transmission means. One of two hanger portions located on the side opposed to the side on which a chain transmission is disposed with respect to a vehicular center line has an insertion hole in which an enlarged diameter head on one end side of a through-bolt is to be inserted, and a slit portion which is continuous to the inner surface of the insertion hole and which is opened downwardly. A fastening bolt is screwed in the one hanger portion for narrowing the slit portion to reduce the diameter of the insertion hole after the through-bolt is inserted in the hanger portions and a boss portion in a state in which the axial position of the through-bolt relative to the boss portion is adjusted.

With this, a distance of a shortest portion between the engine body 8 and a dash panel 3 is increased, and a crushing stroke of the engine room 1 is increased.

The sub-frame itself is designed simply and avoiding duplication of support elements so that it is incapable of supporting by itself the radiator and the transmission which are partially supported in use by elements of the vehicle body.

    Abstract: A motor mount for securing a motor to the frame of a go-cart includes a mounting plate and a clamp. The mounting plate is designed to be attached to the motor and then to remain with the motor as an adaptor for quick attachment to the clamp. The clamp grips the frame of the go-cart with a base and a body pivotally attached to each other at one end and releasibly attachable to each other at the other end by a single bolt. When the bolt is removed, the clamp can be opened and removed from the frame. The mounting plate is slidably receivable within a track formed in the body and locked in place until the motor is to be removed.

    Abstract: A selective all wheel drive powertrain has an engine and transaxle adapted to normally drive the front wheels of a vehicle. A transfer gear set, drive shaft, clutch and differential are connectable between the output of transaxle and the rear wheels of the vehicle to selectively provide an all wheel drive system. A pump, which supplies the fluid pressure to engage the clutch, has a pair of relatively rotatable members that are connected to rotate in unison with opposite sides of the clutch such that when the valve is operated, the clutch will be engaged. A selectively operable valve is disposed between a reservoir and the pump and controlled in actuation by the vehicle traction control system (TCS) to connect the pump to the reservoir when a loss of traction is sensed by the TCS. The clutch is effectively controlled by the selectively operable valve that supplies the fluid to the pump.

    Abstract: An "all terrain" scooter is provided with a large central tubular chassis having two central brackets supporting a platform. At the rear, the tubular frame is offset to one side of the chassis for cantilevered support of the rear driven wheel. From this portion of the frame, an engine is pivotally mounted on a pivot arm at a pivot point offset from the axis of rotation of the driven wheel. This engine has a protruding driving shaft overlying the driven wheel for moving into and out of contact with the ground contact surface of the driven wheel. The pivot point of the pivot arm is offset relative to a line between the point of contact of the protruding driving shaft and the center of driven wheel rotation. This offset is in the direction of driven wheel rotation at the point of contact of the protruding driving shaft and causes increased driving contact with required increased scooter driving force.

The chassis is provided by a lightweight, synthetic resin tub with substantial structural rigidity. The upper body is a separate synthetic resin tub which can be nested within the chassis for shipment and readily assembled thereto at the point of sale. The assembled chassis and upper body define a generally ovoidal configuration. Batteries are carried in a front compartment and provide crash protection for frontal impacts and other batteries are located beneath the vehicle seat to provide a low center of gravity. Transversely extending chassis members provide structural stiffness as well as support elements for the assembly.
