  • Patent number: 7252173
Abstract: A differential (2) for a vehicle is proposed for the apportionment of a drive torque conducted via a drive shaft on a crown gear (7). The drive torque is engendered by a motor (1) onto two output shafts (3, 4) and differential is to serve for the compensation of a difference in speed of rotation between the two output shafts (3, 4). The crown gear (7) is located in an area between the motor (1) and a drive wheel (6) of a vehicle (29) while a semi-independent suspension assembly (10) is to be found between the output shafts (3, 4) in the area between the motor (1) and the other drive wheel (5) of the vehicle, whereby the crown gear (7) and the semi-independent suspension assembly (10) are bound together via a shaft (8).

  • Patent number: 7234562
Abstract: An agricultural tractor rear suspension has a suspension arm pivotally coupled to the chassis of the tractor at a forward pivot joint. A guide roller and interengaged guide track are coupled to and between the chassis and the arm to prevent the arm from flexing laterally outward away from the chassis and flexing laterally inward toward the chassis, thus reducing stress on the pivot joint.

  • Patent number: 6915873
Abstract: A suspended drive axle and agricultural tractor having same including a central housing having inboard final drives and left and right axle housing suspended therefrom by upper and lower control arms with axle shafts extending outwardly therefrom to which wheel and tire assemblies are mounted. A constant velocity universal joint is provided between the inboard final drives and the axle shafts. The universal joint having a pair of journal members and a coupling yoke that radially surround the drive and driven yokes of the joint whereby the axial length of the universal joint is minimized to enable the wheels to be located on the axle shafts at 60 inch tread spacing. This allows the drive axle to be used on a row crop tractor without altering the structure of the vehicle from a conventional row crop tractor whereby the characteristics of a row crop tractor are maintained.

  • Patent number: 6830110
Abstract: A three-point hitch suitable for operation with wide implements is constructed by substituting a pair of flotation actuators for the usual drop links that are normally coupled between a pair of rocker arms and a pair of lower draft links. These drop links are coupled to a hydraulic circuit including, according to one embodiment, individual accumulators for each flotation actuator, and according to a second embodiment, both actuators are coupled to a single accumulator. The accumulator(s) act to cause a pre-selected lifting force to be exerted by the flotation actuators so that a predetermined amount of the weight of an implement mounted to the draft links is counterbalanced, leaving a desired ground pressure being exerted by the implement during operation. When using individual accumulators, a side-to-side weight balance can be achieved since different accumulator settings may be used.

  • Patent number: 6491129
Abstract: An agricultural tractor having a rear suspension with draft compensating geometry to control the compression or extension of the rear suspension in response to a draft load. The draft compensating suspension enables the tractor hitch to be mounted on the suspended frame or chassis of the tractor rather than mounting the hitch to a non-suspended beam axle or locking out the suspension during draft work. The draft load is applied to the chassis by a ground engaging implement. The tractive load and torque at the rear wheels are reacted through the side view instantaneous center of the rear suspension. The placement of the instantaneous center will determine the suspension reaction to the wheel load and torque. Locating the suspension instantaneous center on a line of 100% draft-compensation will eliminate the motion of the suspension due to the draft load. If the instantaneous center is located below the 100% draft-compensation line, the suspension will compress under a draft load.

  • Patent number: 6286619
Abstract: An all terrain vehicle includes an engine and a final drive assembly. The engine includes an output shaft that supports a drive sprocket or pulley. The final drive assembly comprises an input shaft that supports a driven sprocket or pulley and a brake disc. A flexible transmitter such as a belt or a chain connects the drive sprocket or pulley and the driven sprocket or pulley. The final drive assembly is formed separate of the engine and spaced apart from the engine when the two components are mounted to a frame of the vehicle. The driven sprocket or pulley is positioned on an upper portion of the final drive assembly while a lower portion of the final drive assembly is pivotally connected to the frame. The final drive assembly can be pivoted to adjust a tension level within the flexible transmitter. The final drive assembly can be selectively secured in a pivotal position by a support rod and/or a set of slotted brackets.
