Patent number: 8789646Abstract: The present invention relates to a steering apparatus for turning front wheels of a tractor. More particularly, the present invention provides a steering apparatus for tractors which includes a steering cylinder provided with left and right cylinder rods which are extended and retracted to the left and the right by steering force transmitted by hydraulic pressure when the driver manipulates the steering wheel, wherein swing links are respectively hinged to ends of the left and right cylinder rods, thus forming a first four-bar link structure, and second four-bar link structures are respectively formed on left and right ends of the first four-bar link structure so that the front wheels can be turned, whereby an angle range within which the front wheels can be turned can be increased.Type: GrantFiled: May 24, 2011Date of Patent: July 29, 2014Assignee: Daeho Co., Ltd.Inventor: Joong-Ho Kim

Patent number: 8276925Abstract: A knuckle includes a spindle to support a wheel and upper and lower bosses extending inwardly of the spindle. The lower boss includes a tie rod arm mount interface. A tie rod arm is received within the tie rod arm mount interface and a steer arm is positioned on an opposite side of the knuckle from the tie rod arm. The steer arm is fixed to the tie rod arm and includes an input mount interface to receive steering input to turn a wheel. The steer arm and tie rod arm are attached to each other with at least one fastener, or can be integrally formed together as a single-piece component.Type: GrantFiled: April 1, 2010Date of Patent: October 2, 2012Assignee: ArvinMeritor Technology, LLCInventors: Tomaz D. Patent number: 7070019Abstract: An all terrain vehicle has a frame carried by a group of wheels. At least one of the wheels is steerably connected to the frame. A steering handle assembly is rotatably connected to the frame. A servo valve has an input shaft connected to the steering handle assembly and an output shaft connected to a pitman arm. A linkage extends from the pitman arm to the steerable wheel or wheels. A pump draws fluid from a reservoir and passes the fluid through the servo valve before the fluid is returned to the reservoir. The servo valve redirects at least a portion of the flow to a cylinder to drive a ram within the cylinder in response to steering movement of the steering handle assembly. The ram, in turn, provides a power assist to the steerable wheel or wheels. A variable speed, constant displacement pump can be used to vary the flow rate in a manner that reduces the flow rate as the vehicle speed increases. Alternatively, a bypass can be used to vary a flow rate through the servo valve.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 2002Date of Patent: July 4, 2006Assignee: Yamaha Motor Corporation USAInventors: David T. Patent number: 6253657Abstract: A vehicle steering apparatus (10) for turning steerable wheels (14, 16) of a vehicle includes a member (44) movable linearly in opposite directions to turn the steerable wheels in opposite directions. A housing (40) has a chamber (42) into which the member (44) extends. A piston (46) secured to the member (44) is located in the chamber (42). The piston (46) divides the chamber (42) into first and second chamber portions (48, 50). Fluid pressure in the first chamber portion (48) acts on a first area (116) of the piston (46) to cause Linear movement of the member (44) in one direction. Fluid pressure in the second chamber portion (50) acts on a second area (118) of the piston (46) to cause linear movement of the member (44) in a second direction opposite the one direction. The second area (118) of the piston (46) is less than the first area (116) of the piston. A spring (122) acts to urge the member (44) in the second direction.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 1999Date of Patent: July 3, 2001Assignee: TRW Inc.Inventor: Mark A. Cartwright
