Electric Drive To Other Machine Patents (Class 180/53.5)
  • Patent number: 11913316
Abstract: In accordance with presently disclosed embodiments, a hybrid drive system that uses multiple sources of mechanical energy to drive a pump is provided. The hybrid drive system may include a first mover for generating first mechanical energy, a pump, a drivetrain for providing first mechanical energy from the first mover to the pump, and a second mover within the drivetrain to generate and provide second mechanical energy to the pump. The multiple sources of mechanical energy may provide flexibility with respect to system design and allow for alternative sources of fuel and energy to be used to drive pumping systems. This may reduce the total diesel fuel consumption necessary to perform a well stimulation operation as well as provide for configurations in which diesel engines may be excluded from the pumping process in favor of alternative energy sources that typically do not have sufficient torque capacity to power a pump.

  • Patent number: 8579748
Abstract: An in-vehicle power transmission apparatus is equipped with a motor-generator working as an engine to drive a vehicle and a power split device made up of a plurality of power split rotors. A first one of the rotors is coupled to a driven wheel of the vehicle, while a second one of the rotors is coupled to an accessory such as an air compressor of an air conditioner. The speed of the second rotor is controllable independently of that of the driven wheel. This eases restrictions on the supply of power produced by the generator-motor to the accessory. Alternatively, the rotors are so linked that when the speed of the first rotor is not zero (0), the speed of the second rotor has one of zero (0) and a value other than zero (0), thus ensuring the stability in supplying the power to drive the vehicle to the accessory.

  • Patent number: 8080970
Abstract: A system and apparatus that allows the use of a 3-phase AC motor in a vehicle by associating a series capacitor with each phase winding. The capacitor can be charged through the motor winding and then switched to discharge through the winding in a resonant oscillatory mode. The capacitor values can be chosen so that the winding and capacitor in series resonates at approximately 60 Hz. Oscillations in each phase can be staggered by around 120 degrees. The charging and discharging is controlled by electronic SPDT switches that switch around 300 VAC/500 VDC at around 15 amps for each phase. With an average DC current of 20 amps from a 48 volt battery pack (four 12 volt batteries connected in series) and 75% discharge of the capacitors, the present invention can run a 7.5 HP, 3-phase, 240 VAC motor for approximately 3.5 hours or longer. A simple oscillator circuit can drive the switches at the resonant frequency.

  • Patent number: 6949041
Abstract: A vehicle driving system includes a pulley shaft synchronously rotating with a crankshaft of an engine, an auxiliary unit drive shaft driving an auxiliary unit, a planetary gear mechanism portion having elements such as a sun gear, a pinion carrier and a ring gear. The pulley shaft and the auxiliary unit drive shaft are adapted for connection to any two of the elements, respectively. The motor connecting to the remaining element of the planetary gear mechanism portion. A lock-up clutch connecting together the two or more elements of the planetary gear mechanism portion. A one-way clutch for restricting the rotation of the auxiliary unit drive shaft in one direction, wherein the planetary gear mechanism portion, the motor, the lock-up clutch, and the auxiliary unit drive shaft are coaxially disposed in line.
