Overmotor Cab Patents (Class 180/89.16)
  • Patent number: 10793203
Abstract: A commercial motor vehicle having a chassis, an engine compartment defined between parallel elongate beams of the chassis, and a driver cabin positioned at least partially over the engine compartment. The driver cabin being supported on the chassis by spaced resilient suspension devices, and includes an upper cabin part and a lower cabin part. The upper cabin part is tiltable to allow access to the engine compartment by being hinged about a lower edge, while the lower cabin part remains associated with the chassis when the upper cabin part is tilted. The lower part of the driver cabin is supported by the resilient suspension devices.

Abstract: A cab-over-engine vehicle is described wherein the cab is supported in a level orientation on the vehicle's chassis. A cab repositioning system raises the cab while maintaining the cab in the level orientation, thus exposing the engine to be worked on. A service step structure that is hidden within the exterior body when the cab is over the engine is deployed when the cab is raised. The service step structure is connected to the underside of the cab such that the service step structure swings down and away from the exterior body to provide access to the raised level cab at the same time allowing access to the engine.

  • Publication number: 20110017537
Abstract: There is provided a working vehicle designed such that, even in a smaller machine type, a fuel tank is easily attached or detached, overall configuration is not costly, an operating space can be increased, interior comfort is improved, and in addition, a width dimension of an opening for entry to or exit from a cabin is sufficiently secured, and satisfactory maintenance is ensured. The working vehicle comprises a cabin C which has a rear wall surface Cf having a circular arc shape formed around a rotation shaft sa of an upper rotation body 3. A planar shape formed by integrating a revolving frame R serving as a base of the upper rotation body 3, and a counterweight w fixed to the revolving frame R, is substantially the same as a planar shape of the cabin C, as viewed from above. A fuel tank having a shape along internal wall surfaces of the counterweight w is fixed to the counterweight w via pressing members.

  • Patent number: 7338114
Abstract: A front side of a floor panel (15) is pivotally supported on a floor panel support mechanism (21), permitting tilting of the floor panel in a forward direction with respect to a revolving frame (5) by way of a tilting mechanism (30). The tilting mechanism (30) has a guide rail assembly (33) which is pivotally supported on the side of the revolving frame (5), a screw rod (34) which is rotatably supported on the guide rail assembly (33), and a displacement member (35) which is attached to the floor panel (15) and held in threaded engagement with the screw rod (34). The floor panel (15) and a cab (29) are tilted up in the forward direction upon rotationally driving the screw rod (34) to translate the displacement member (35) constituting the tilting mechanism (30).

  • Patent number: 6910731
Abstract: A skid steer loader has an operator's cab mounted thereon pivoting about a horizontal pivot adjacent a forward edge of the frame of the loader and at the forward edge of the operator's cab. In a working position the cab overlies a portion of the frame that has operating components therein, and the cab can be pivoted to raise the rear of the cab to pivot it forwardly to an open position to permit access to components beneath the cab when its in its working position. The cab has positive latches for holding it in its working position, and an automatic stop to hold it in its open position. The latches are operated by levers on the back wall of the cab that are moved between a latched and unlatched position, and when they are in their unlatched position, a cover for the engine components cannot be closed.
