A first side of the contact area is placed adjacent and secured to the load-bearing surface. The second side of the contact area is placed between the load bearing surface and a support surface to prevent the ladder from sliding. The bumper can be affixed to the load bearing surface by an adhesive, tape or hook and loop material or using multiple dome-topped pins that are integral with the first side. The dome-topped pins are dimensioned to fit within holes that are placed along the load-bearing surface.

The rear bar has a means for securing the apparatus to a facia board connected to an end of a rafter under a roof extension on a house, such as a bolt hole and multiple holes for receiving a bolt or nails secured to the facia. Guides extend outward from the ends of the front bar for securing uprights of a ladder therebetween and also to provide for detection of the apparatus from the ground. The present invention can have a pair of cross-rails in the middle of the apparatus that hold an O-ring for tying and securing a ladder.

A non-skid base is provided on the lower portion of said handrails to engage the landing surface. The hand rails are spaced apart further than the ladder rails to permit easy entry to the landing surface through the hand rails.

The crossbar (22) having four equal sides and four right angles comprising a commercial form of rigid material, and having a plurality of holes for an interlocking method for securing the handle (16) to the crossbar (22) and screw member (10). The handle (16) comprising a predetermined diameter center hole (18) and an internal screw thread within the center hole (18) for receiving the screw member (10).

An arm rotatably connects to the brace. The brace arm includes a first support surface for the sled when the arm is rotated toward the roof and a second support surface for contacting the roof. The sled is motivated along the ladder by motivating mechanism such as a crank operated cable.

    Abstract: A scaffold apparatus includes a mounting frame releasably attachable to a top platform of a step ladder, a brace attached to the mounting frame and extending outwardly for holding the mounting frame and the step ladder in a spaced relation away from a building structure, and a receptacle for removable attachment to the brace and defining a cavity for retaining articles therein. The mounting frame includes a pair of pins and clips and a pair of C-shaped side clamp members for releasably attaching the frame to the step ladder. Each C-shaped side clamp member defines a channel therethrough and a pair of aligned apertures at a rear end. Each pin is removably insertable through one of the pair of aligned apertures defined at the rear ends of the C-shaped side clamp members for releasably retaining the mounting frame on the top platform of the step ladder.

Each of these legs terminate in foot pads with these foot pads including an impaling device. Each impaling device is designed to penetrate a short distance the vertical wall surface when the weight of the human being approaches the upper end of the ladder. Each foot pad section includes retraction structure to retract the impaling device prior to usage. The legs are adjustable in spacing relative to the ladder. The attachment is pivotable between a forwardly extending position and a rearwardly extending position. Locking devices lock the attachment onto a rung of the ladder.
