  • Patent number: 11193699
Abstract: An apparatus includes a high side heat exchanger, a flash tank, a first load, a first oil separator, and a first compressor. The high side heat exchanger removes heat from a refrigerant. The flash tank stores the refrigerant. The first load uses the refrigerant to cool a first space proximate the first load. During a first mode of operation, the first oil separator separates an oil from the refrigerant from the first load and directs the refrigerant to an ejector. The ejector directs the refrigerant from the high side heat exchanger and the refrigerant form the first oil separator to the flash tank. The flash tank directs the refrigerant from the first oil separator to the first compressor. The first compressor compresses the refrigerant from the flash tank. During a second mode of operation, the first oil separator directs the oil separated from the refrigerant to the first compressor.

  • Patent number: 8746410
Abstract: An automated gear oil service system for a boat motor outdrive includes a bidirectional pump that is in selective communication with a drain reservoir, a refill reservoir and the motor's gear oil lube chamber. A control panel positioned on the boat dashboard operates the pump and associated solenoid valves allowing a user to transfer gear oil from the refill reservoir into the fluid chamber or to drain fluid from the chamber into the drain reservoir. The control panel includes LEDs in communication with a level sensor that indicates the relative gear oil level within the chamber. Accordingly, when the LEDs indicate a low fluid level, the user can easily replenish the gear oil by actuating a first button to initiate transfer of fluid from the refill reservoir to the lube chamber. To observe the quality of lubricating fluid within the chamber, the user actuates a second button to transfer the fluid from the chamber into the drain reservoir where the user can inspect the fluid for contamination.

Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus and process for exchanging an engine fluid for maintenance purposes. The fluid is accessed through the engines reservoir for that particular fluid. Used fluid is removed simultaneously with the introduction of new fluid. In order to maintain a constant level of fluid in the reservoir, and thus, prevent overflow or cavitation problems, a control module is presented that enables the user to control the rate of new fluid flow into the reservoir relative to the rate of used fluid and to activate and deactivate the new and used fluid pumps. During operation, the module is located in close proximity to the reservoir such that the user is able to observe the fluid level while relating the flows.
