  • Patent number: 11549504
Abstract: An automated fluid transfer system and method allows a person to pour fluid, such as used motor oil, into a collection pan which automatically pumps the fluid to a bulk storage tank, without secondary containment in the collection pan. The system utilizes an air powered pump, thereby eliminating the use of electricity which creates fire and explosion hazards. A float rises and falls in response to fluid in the pan, so as to automatically turn on and turn off the pump. An alternative manual mode is provided to allow fluid to be sucked by the pump from a container directly into the bulk storage tank, while bypassing the collection pan.

Abstract: A container for fluid which includes: an inlet; and a catchment surface for draining the fluid from an exterior of the container into the container through the inlet when the container is in a prone condition, wherein the container is moveable from the prone condition to a carrying condition, and wherein the inlet is positioned so as to be elevated above a contained fluid when the container is in either the prone condition or the carrying condition. The container can include a collecting wall, wherein the collecting wall includes a flow obstacle for slowing a flow of the fluid on the exterior of the container. The flow obstacle can be provided by ribs on the catchment surface. The container can include an outlet adapted to substantially resist fluid flow when in the prone condition, and adapted to allow fluid flow when in a pouring condition for draining the fluid from the container.

Abstract: The invention relates to a robot transmission (1) for a multi-axis robot, in particular for a painting robot or a hand-held robot of a painting system for painting motor vehicle body components. Said transmission comprises a transmission housing (6) which is filled, when in operation, at least partially with a lubricant according to an operationally-dependent lubricant pressure, in order to lubricate the robot transmission (1), and has a construction-defined maximum pressure for the lubrication pressure. The transmission housing (6) is not air-tight if the lubrication pressure in the transmission housing (6) exceeds the maximum pressure. According to the invention, the robot transmission also comprises a pressure compensation device (7) which compensates the pressure in the transmission housing (6) and thus prevents the lubrication pressure in the transmission housing (6) from exceeding the maximum pressure.

  • Patent number: 8627928
Abstract: The present invention provides a fluid displacing transmission filler having a blow molded, foam filled body. The body or shell of the filler is blow molded in a mold which shapes it to conform to internal surfaces and other features, such as gears and shafts, of a transmission. Then, the blow molded filler body is filled with closed cell foam. The resulting transmission filler is lightweight, achieves a maximum volume for an available space within a transmission and is essentially impervious to failure and filling with fluid because the closed cell foam does not significantly absorb transmission fluid.

A lube pump is mounted within the housing, and delivers oil to the plurality of gears and bearings. The lube pump has an oil supply tube for supplying oil to the pump for delivery to the plurality of gears and bearings. An oil reservoir maintains a quantity of oil above a lowermost end of the inlet tube, and is shaped such that a cross-sectional area at a lower end of the inlet tube has a first cross-sectional area. Other cross-sectional areas spaced upwardly from the first cross-sectional area are greater. A ratio of the second cross-sectional area to the first cross-sectional area is less than 3.
